Ohio State Offers Nation’s No. 2 Dual-Threat QB Jayden Daniels
Ohio State added to their growing list of quarterback offers on Thursday by extending an offer to San Bernadino, California QB Jayden Daniels (Cajon HS).
Daniels (6-3 170) is the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the 2019 class per the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 93 player in the nation overall.
Last season as a junior, Daniels reportedly passed for over 5,000 yards and rushed for nearly 1,300 yards, accounting for just under 80 total touchdowns.
According to 247Sports, he is planning to take a spring visit to Ohio State.
Because of the distance, he could try to take advantage of the NCAA’s new allowance of spring official visits, in which case Ohio State would cover the costs of the visit. Spring official visits aren’t necessarily something that Urban Meyer wants to do, but in the case of prospects from so far away, it makes sense in order to get a sizable foot in the door.
Penn State also offered Daniels on Thursday. OSU and PSU joined the likes of Alabama, Georgia, and Ole Miss who have offered Daniels in the past month or so. Florida State has also offered. He holds an offer from USC, but nothing from UCLA yet.
Daniels displays a strong arm, but more impressive than that is the touch he shows down the field. He has been blessed with some talented receivers as well, including 6-foot-8 2019 prospect Darren Jones.
