Was very enjoyable. Can really tell he loves what he does very dearly.. definitely an obvious statement, but it's always cool to see someone really express that. Connected the dots from his childhood interests of nature, science, space and science fiction to his film creations and achievements.
Really was a great 90 minutes. I wish the questions at the end of his speech weren't filtered, however. They were terrible. So much he said could've been explained further (he was limited in time), and they chose the most generic questions possible. He even seemed disappointed.
If a video of the lecture is available online, I'll post it when I see it. There were cameras there. Plenty of media coverage, too.
Couple notable quotes from him.. on post-production 3D.. "Don't get me started.." followed by a 5 minute rant about how people need to not ruin the 3D film reputation by doing lackluster post-production jobs and charging full price.
Really harped on his influence from various parts of his life, like his childhood, his school education (physics), his experience in engineering and leadership experience. It really seemed like Avatar was a culmination of everything he's done in life. Everything came together for that one.
I know there are a few Ohio posters on here, anyone else get to go?
