Jake always reminded me of one of those guys that I met working remote Alaska. I could just imagine him there in the day room playing cards, drinking, smoking, laughing and talking shit  March madness isn't going to be the same without his input and updates. He will be greatly missed if he doesn't survive spring in the Andes, I hope he finds a pretty little senorita squaw to keep him warm at night, gets cold up in those mountains.

Wow, I don't usually venture into the open discussion so I'm just seeing this. Very sad to lose such a pillar of the community. Rest in peace, brother.
The crazy thing is that the day he passed, according to the obit, he posted several times here. It says he passed peacefully in his home. I'd like to think it was in his sleep.

Just seeing this.

RIP Jake.

Seemed like a solid dude. I loved when he got worked up over 2 point conversions. Now every time a team attempts a “stupid” two point conversion and loses the game based on said “stupid” conversion, I’ll probably think of him.
Georgia was up 12-0 early in the third quarter after a touchdown and they lined up for a 2-pt attempt. I could only think of Jake’s thread on stupid 2-pt conversions. After a penalty they went for 1 from the 8 to go up 13-0.
Maybe wouldn’t have been “stupid” but it seemed to me to be “meaningless”.
May your legacy live on, Jake.
