Jake Diebler (Head Coach)

Jake Diebler with another 5-star commit today! Too bad the haters are already tuned out can't celebrate a big commitment for the Buckeyes. Let's be real, NIL is constantly changing college sports, and OSU has often been outbid for talent both years Diebler has been the coach, and he's also had to deal with losing starters that were seen as building blocks of the future to the portal. In spite of this, he's managed to get a couple of very high profile commitments. Whether OSU is positioned similarly regarding the NIL competition in the future with the Commission remains to be seen. It's sad to me fans are eager to cut ties with a coach because he was a former assistant under a coach who did not fare well and hasn't yet gotten the program into the upper echelon in two years. I wholeheartedly believe in giving the man a real chance, especially considering the NIL factor has been working against him & he's been able to get some very good recruits in spite of that.

I’ll own that. I haven’t politicked for giving him the ax, but I have been very critical of the program and admit that I haven’t been particularly impressed with Diebler so far. But he’s done a heck of a job with these recruits and the team seems to be improving. I hope they can continue to improve through the season and make the tourney this year.

Man we saw them do some really ugly things on the court down the stretch last season and it made a lot of people bitter. So far this season it really looks like a different kind of team. The buy in is where I feel like it had really turned the corner. The TEAM basketball is night and day different so far and you can't argue with the impressive recruiting efforts.

Now Diebs end of game interview sign off, "Thanks, Go Bucks! Beat that team up north!" My guy

Agree with most of the above - He's proven to get the 'jimmies and the joes', now he has to accomplish the 'Xs and the Os'. But remember, he's got a plethora of assistant coaches on the bench with him, and mayhaps some of this falls on them for non-performance, or mediocre performance. I know, everything falls on Diebs, as it should, but results should dictate more and better financial support. PS, anyone know how the attendance is, so far this year, for men's and woman's basketball?
