I have to agree with this. A, what do we have to lose from offering the best player in the country? B, who cares if he said SC and Bama are his top two, they've actually offered. Nobody lists a school who hasn't offered as a favorite at this stage in the game.

Because he's not worth the time and effort for our recruiters. He's a southern boy staying close to home.

Besides, we've got 5 AMAZING D-Linemen committed and McReynolds or Sturdivant could add to that. Our recruiters' time is better off spent recruiting the other positions on defense, where we have 3 commits total.

Same two out front for Clowney
There is no change at the top for the nation's top prospect, DE Jadeveon Clowney (Rock Hill, S.C./ South Pointe). He still favors South Carolina and Alabama and those two could prove tough to catch. However, Clowney will likely make official visits to LSU, Florida State, Miami and Alabama. It's doubtful he will take official visits to in-state Clemson and South Carolina.

So has he lived up to the billing as the country's No. 1 high school football prospect?

"Absolutely. Clowney has lived up to it every bit and in every way," South Pointe coach Bobby Carroll said. "He has been awesome so far this season."

Coming for a visit?

Looks like he may coming to Columbus for a visit, per ESPN Insider via Palmetto Sports:

"DE Jadeveon Clowney (6-6 240) of South Pointe is close to lining up his official visits and wants to spend one of his trips on Ohio State a source close to Clowney said Tuesday night. At school Tuesday, Clowney met with his guidance counselor to review his schools of interest, and Clowney said he'd like to set up a visit to Columbus. The other schools he's considering are USC, Clemson, Alabama, Florida State and Miami. It appears LSU and Auburn have slipped down the list with Clowney at this time. Clowney plans to get together this week with his coach, Bobby Carroll, to work on setting up the official visits. And he plans to go to Clemson Saturday for the Miami game."

Yeah I heard he was intrested in OSU a while back but the staff showed none back, which is shocking. From what I understand, he wears a lot of Buckeye gear. Now, that could be due to his high school having the exact same colors and unis that we have. But I agree, lets get him on campus and see what happens. He's the real deal...

Get him on campus for a big game like PSU or scUM and you never know...

Been wrong before and hope to be this time. He may visit and be blown away by the atmosphere or JT...

...but every word I've heard since summer from coaches, recruiting services, etc says South Carolina or Alabama with SC as the likely destination.

His former teammate and current South Carolina star Stephon Gilmore also listed tOSU in his recruitment...South Pointe HC Bobby Carroll knows tOSU folks, but I will be shocked if this kid heads north.

Clowney is as good of a HS prospect as I've ever seen. He is gifted and he plays the game right on every play.
