Jacksonville Jaguars (official thread)

Josh Lambo reportedly sues Jacksonville Jaguars for more than $3.5 million, alleges Urban Meyer created hostile work environment

Former Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo filed a lawsuit against the team on Tuesday, alleging that former head coach Urban Meyer created a hostile work environment, and he is seeking more than $3.5 million in lost salary and additional damages, the Tampa Bay Times is reporting.

The lawsuit in the 4th Judicial Circuit Court in Duval County alleges that Lambo's performance suffered after he was verbally and physically abused by Meyer. It also claims that Meyer threatened to release Lambo after Lambo spoke up in his defense and that an employer striking an employee and threatening to do so again in retaliation is illegal in Florida.

Per the Times, the lawsuit says Lambo is seeking a jury trial and would like to be awarded back pay from his 2021 salary as well as compensation for emotional stress, harm to his reputation and legal fees. Lambo was scheduled to earn $3.5 million in 2021 and was guaranteed to receive that money as a vested veteran with more than four years of experience. Lambo was to earn $4 million in 2022 with the Jaguars.

Trevor Lawrence Is An Absolute Stud Celebrating His Big Win At A Waffle House

This is the only way anybody should ever celebrate a win. Why go out to a club and waste money on stupid shit when you can have some fine dining at a Waffle House? Plus if you go to the club in Jacksonville you are definitely not having a good time. The Waffle House though? It's never disappointed. And if I can pick anywhere to get a standing ovation, a Waffle House would be the 1st place I would want it. The real Jacksonville fans aren't partying at whatever the Jax equivelent of E11ven is, they are sitting down and talking over some waffles, burnt coffee, and a whole bunch of cigarettes inside.

There are certain teams like the Jaguars, Bills, and Raiders where you have absolutely insane fans that live and die if you win. Especially the Jags because they have been such dog shit since Blake Bortles almost got them to the Super Bowl.

Jaguars, city of Jacksonville approve agreement to build $1.4 billion 'Stadium of the Future'

The stadium would keep the Jaguars in Jacksonville for another 30 years

jaguars-stadium.jpg

The Jacksonville Jaguars' "Stadium of the Future" is a go, as the franchise and city approved an agreement on a $1.4 billion project on Tuesday that will keep the Jaguars in Jacksonville for "decades to come."

The proposal will see each side contribute $625 million to the project and Jacksonville would chip in another $150 million to get EverBank Stadium ready for construction beginning in 2026. The team will also not include any new taxes to pay for the rebuild.

With construction set to begin after the 2025 season, the Jaguars would play in front of a reduced capacity crowd in 2026 and then host home games in either Gainesville or Orlando in 2027.

The updated look of EverBank Stadium was revealed last summer, representing the next step in the team's efforts to transform downtown Jacksonville. The Jaguars plan to make the stadium four times as wide as the current one with interactive social areas and food local to the city. The stadium will include state of the art technology and a shade canopy to reduce heat retention by 70%.

The Jaguars and the city have agreed to each contribute $625 million to the renovation, but the city also has agreed to pay $150 million over the next two seasons on maintenance and repairs to prepare the stadium for construction. That means the city will be responsible for 55% of the total cost.

In addition, the agreement calls for Jaguars owner Shad Khan to be responsible for cost overruns of the renovation as well as 80.4% of the game-day expenses.

In addition to the renovation, the deal between the city and the Jaguars also includes a 30-year lease that would begin once the stadium reopens and a non-relocation agreement, which would put to rest the relocation rumors that have surrounded the small-market franchise for the past 15 years. There also is a clause that limits the Jaguars to one home game annually in London unless mandated by the NFL to participate in an additional international game once every four seasons -- and that's only during the seasons in which the team has nine home games (every odd year).

As for other opportunities to improve the stadium? In announcing the stadium design last year, the franchise said the following changes will be made:
  • Shade on all seats
  • A 360-degree concourse
  • Wider concourses
  • Increased space for football operations
  • Better vertical transportation
  • Replace HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems

Jaguars fire coach Doug Pederson, keep GM Trent Baalke after 4-13 season

The Jacksonville Jaguars fired coach Doug Pederson but retained GM Trent Baalke on Monday, the team announced.

Pederson's firing comes after the team finished 4-13 this season; it has lost 18 of its past 23 games.

"I had the difficult task this morning of informing Doug Pederson of my intention to hire a new head coach to lead the Jacksonville Jaguars," Jaguars owner Shad Khan said in a statement. "Doug is an accomplished football man who will undoubtedly enjoy another chapter in his impressive NFL career, and I will be rooting for Doug and his wife Jeannie when that occasion arrives. As much as Doug and I both wish his experience here in Jacksonville would have ended better, I have an obligation first and foremost to serve the best interests of our team and especially our fans, who faithfully support our team and are overdue to be rewarded. In that spirit, the time to summon new leadership is now.

"I strongly believe it is possible next season to restore the winning environment we had here not long ago. I will collaborate with General Manager Trent Baalke and others, within and close to our organization, to hire a leader who shares my ambition and is ready to seize the extraordinary opportunity we will offer in Jacksonville."

Lawrence looked like he was going to be a good qb his 2nd year. Team also looked to be going the right direction.

Team and Lawrence fell off a cliff after that. Not sure the cause as I don’t really follow the Jags.

Well, Trent Baalke is their GM and he is one of the worst GMs in NFL history. So, his personnel decisions have kind of...hurt. Seriously, the guy is a moron, I have no idea how he got another GM job after he took a ball peen hammer to the 49ers roster. And JAX is keeping him around. Crazy.
