Jackson State University Tigers (official thread)

QB Shedeur Sanders became the highest-rated quarterback to ever sign with JSU and 4 days ago Beats by Dre signed him to a NIL deal.

Win or lose, Deion has elevated the program in ways few other coaches - who would actually coach there - could. Shedeur is making his debut on ESPN2, right now.

Looks like it's pouring in Miami.

Deion Sanders flips No. 2 overall college football recruit Travis Hunter from Florida State to Jackson State on national signing day

Cornerback Travis Hunter, the No. 2-ranked recruit in the country, flipped his commitment from Florida State to Jackson State on Wednesday to become the first five-star high school football prospect to sign with an FCS team since ESPN started its rankings in 2006.

"Historically Black Colleges and Universities have a rich history in football," Hunter said in his post. "I want to be part of that history, and more, I want to be part of that future. I am making this decision so that I can light the way for others to follow, make it a little easier for the next player to recognize that HBCUs may be everything you want and more."

Sanders signed his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who was an ESPN 300 recruit in the 2021 class, along with ESPN 300 prospects Katron Evans, Quaydarius Davis and Trevonte Rucker.

At the time, Shedeur Sanders was the highest-ranked commit Jackson State had signed, but Hunter now takes that spot.

Jackson State Tigers football coach Deion Sanders says he had two toes amputated after medical setback
https://www.espn.com/college-footba...s-says-had-two-toes-amputated-medical-setback
Deion Sanders had two toes on his left foot amputated because of blood clots stemming from a previous surgery.

The Jackson State coach and NFL Hall of Famer revealed the severity of his foot injury in an episode of his "Coach Prime" documentary series that aired Tuesday night on Barstool Sports.

Sanders was hospitalized for around a month in the middle of last season. The Tigers finished 11-2.

He had a dislocated toe along with an inflamed nerve. His initial procedure was in September and he later returned to the field for practice using a golf cart and crutches. He roamed the sideline for a game with the help of a push scooter.

As he healed, his toes began to darken under the bandages.

"They were talking about the amputation of toes," Sanders said. "Then they were talking about the amputation of my leg from the knee down. Then, they were trying to ensure I had life."

Sanders, 54, underwent several surgeries. He developed a femoral arterial blood clot. He also had compartment syndrome, which meant his leg swelled, and doctors had to flay open his leg to drain fluid. Sanders later had his left foot's big toe and second toe amputated.
