Who is to say if someone is guilty? You have trials for that exact reason. If they have solid evidence then the person goes to jail if its flimsy evidence they don't. As for this case, I think he probally did do innappropriate things with children, but unfortunatly the prosecution had the wrong family.
I totally agree. Well said.

None of us heard the testimony so we don't have all of the details, just heresay.

Frankly, the subject of the trial sickens me to my stomach, so I couldn't follow the case at all. I couldn't tell you if "Jax" is innocent or not.

I will say this, however, the state of the legal system in this country today sickens me. If you are rich, you are hereby above the law: you can commit double-murders, you can rape women, you can lie to the Grand Jury, you can molest children, whatever .. and the victims of these crimes go without justice.

To me, if a loved one is murdered, seeing the killer go to jail is a small consolation (b/c it doesn't bring back the one who was taken from you), but nowadays, they don't even get that.

I know a guy here in CT whose father is a very rich man. The kid has no social skills, an anger problem, and is in and out of the courts constantly. But, because he can afford to hire a lawyer like Mickey Sherman (he of the Skakel case), he gets off with no consequences & continues to pull his shit.

For example, his ex-girlfriend (who is an aspiring lawyer), broke up with him. He got mad, and e-mailed her entire law firm on a blast message with gruesome details about how she likes it in the ol' back door in bed (if you catch my meaning). The kid was red-handed guilty, the girl was held back for promotions (whether or not she had anything to do with it is irrelevant, the fact that it did happen looks bad), and the kid got off scot-free ("Not Guilty" verdict) to commit more crimes (I think a few months ago he got picked up for attacking his landscaping guy who accidentally blew leaves on his car).

What's wrong with our legal system???

the evidence was solid, the witness was not... i happen to be pretty decent friends with a lawyer who works at a firm here in town with one of the members of Jacko's defense team... she told me that it didn't matter if Jacko was guilty or not, because the Defense would make the kid's mother look like such a crack whore that her testimony would not matter... she was right... Clearly Jacko crossed the line, but the witness wasn't credible, not to mention a lady on the jury said that it was the parent's fault for letting the kids go there anyway...... a couple jury members even said in exit interviews that they thought Jacko was guilty, but not that guilty...

So, even with solid evidence if a witness isn't perfect the jury can simply ignore evidence. If a crack whore bitch takes a photo of a crime being committed, can the jury ignore the photo because a "crack hoe" took it?

As for it being the parents' fault, if my neighbor let's his 10-yard-old daughter come over to my house and I fondle her, then it's my neighbor's fault and not mine...how in the fuck is that?! The neighborhood had better be stringing my ass up the nearest light post and using me as a human pinata.

Lastly, there's is no degree of guilt...it's like being pregnant, you either are or you're not, period.
