It's Shark Week.....Again

I love the ocean. Took the family to visit family in Florida about a year ago. Took my 4 year old swimming at Clearwater Beach. A manatee was like 3 yds away. It was fucking cool

Mary Lee, a nearly 3,500-pound great white shark, is back at the Jersey shore.

The 16-foot shark was tagged by researchers in 2012 off Cape Cod, Mass., and since then has swum more than 34,000 miles, according to Ocearch.org, which collects information on sharks in an effort to protect the animals.

On Friday, Mary Lee surfaced less than 40 miles off the coast of Atlantic City, according to the organization.

'Holy S***!': Man Films Massive Great White Thrashing In Shallow Water
When Dale Peterson saw a large figure thrashing around in shallow waters near his house in the town of Puertecitos in Baja California, Mexico, last month, he thought it would be a beached whale or struggling hammerhead shark, known to frequent the area.

He grabbed his camera phone and a friend with plans to save the struggling animal, but as they waded closer to the scene, they realized they were facing a much more powerful creature: A great white shark.

In reply to the videographer's question, no, I wasn't actually wondering if there were great white sharks in the water there. I had, however, wondered if there were Darwin-fail imbeciles reckless enough to wade out to meet one. That question has been answered.

Katherine The Great White Shark Has Been Spotted Again

8a5190e6ed597bc02c7d6edeedb82839

Summer may be the unofficial start to shark season. A gigantic great white shark named Katherine was seen swimming just ten miles away from civilization Sunday. This isn’t the first time the shark has made an appearance on the East coast.

Katherine apparently sent off a satellite ping Sunday from an area 10 miles away from Cobb Island, Virginia, an island part of the Eastern Shore barrier islands located east of the town of Oyster. The Virginia-Pilot reported Sunday that the 14-foot, 2,300-pound shark alerted scientists of its location on Sunday afternoon. She was seen about 80 miles away from Virginia Beach in May.
