Isaiah Pead (official thread)

If the staff didn't want McGuffie for the slot, why would they want Pead? Just my take on what I am hearing from people that know. Pead's best shot at an offer was at CB and it didn't happen for him.

Besides the obvious "maybe they liked Pead better" I would have to say I don't know. Of course they could have had them ranked like this: Thomas, McGuffie, and Pead. If they did and Thomas goes elsewhere (and McGuffie has already gone elsewhere) Pead might fit the bill. I'm reaching obviously so don't pay me any mind.

Appreciate the insight.

You very well could be right...I just know that I was told they were looking at Pead as a CB.

He definitely has everything you want, measureables wise, to be a corner, just not so sure that is where he wants to play in college (kind of like DJ Woods). However, I think Pead has the desire to a Buckeye that DJ didn't and would be fine playing corner. He could always help out in the return games as well.

The problem is he is not an OSU-caliber corner...

In any case, Pead will be exciting to watch this year and hopefully next should he choose a Big Ten School.

It would be nice to see Pead on the Big Ten Network.

I gotta love kids from the EastSide and it is unfortunate that their are so few schollies this year at tOSU, but that is the way it goes sometimes. I hope Pead takes this and uses it as motivation to come back to Columbus on another Big Ten team and showcase in front of the hometown. It has been done before.

PS I got big Eastmoor ties. My brother-in-law was the last white running back for Eastmoor(or at least that is his self proclaimed claim to fame), My mom, uncle, aunts, and a whole bunch of kin graduated from Eastmoor so it hurts a little bit when a great athlete like Pead comes along and won't make it to O State.

Good Luck to Pead and if he gets any of this I'd say go to Wisconsin!

I heard Pead was struggling at CB last week against East. While he dominated on offense, no so much defense. Even tho East didn't score through the air, he struggled.

Just telling you how East is this year, they are a Division 2 school that is fielding a team of 22 players..............total. Mainly because of the school move to the northside.

The scores Eastmoor put up didn't surprise me, it was the fact that East scored.

After hearing he stuggled at CB against East, it doesn't surprise me he won't get a offer from OSU at CB

Eastmoor Academy 47, Whitehall 8

Isaiah Pead rushed for 216 yards on 14 carries and four touchdowns and returned an interception for a touchdown to lead visiting Eastmoor Academy (2-0) over Whitehall (0-2).

Pead, who has 12 touchdowns in two games, scored on runs of 48, 39, 18 and 2 yards and had a 22-yard interception return for a TD to help the Warriors take a 41-0 halftime lead. He rushed for 198 yards in the first half.

11 rushing touchdowns in two games... thats on pace for 55!!!... not saying that will happen but even if he averages 3 a game for the rest of the season (which is highly believable) thats 35 Rushing touchdowns. That's pretty friggin crazy.

Frontrunner for Mr. Ohio?

Agree OB. Pead's numbers are out of this world and we are barely in September. He has the shimmy and shake in the open field, my only question, as I am sure was mentioned somewhere in this thread, is the quality of his competition.

Best of luck to this kid wherever he ends up.

Whitehall is my ol' stomping grounds and, to put it bluntly, I'm surprised they scored 8.

Week Three Roundup

Eastmoor (3-0) @ Grandview Heights (1-2)

After jumping out to a 20-0 lead, Eastmoor survived a scare to beat
Grandview 26-21. Early on, Eastmoor's Isaiah Pead was controlling the
game with two first quarter touchdowns. Cramping and fatigue limited his
contributions for most of the game from that moment forward. In the third, Grandview actually took the lead 21-20. Like all the great ones do, Pead
mustered up enough energy to score on a 61 yard run and that was all
Eastmoor would need.
