Isaiah Pead (official thread)

At some point, decisions to keep Pead in the game and allow him to continue to rack up points shows a lack of class on Eastmoor's part. When you're up 68-6, do you really need another 70 yard TD run?

I would think this has little to do with a "lack of class" and more to do with showcasing an athlete who is waiting on an offer from his home school. The better he looks, the more likely he gets an offer. If I am a HS coach and I know my kid needs to have an impressive season to garner an offer from tOSU, I am going to get him all the touches I can, within reason. This kid is a talent and we may well regret not offering, if he ends up not getting the offer he is fighting for (it is always a tragedy when an Ohio kid who has tOSU quality talent doesn't get that offer for whatever reason).

Also, those stats do not say when he came out of the game. Were those yard and TDs gotten mainly in the first half? I don't know, as I wasn't there.

he didn't play the second half, he only rushed the ball 11 times

One more TD would have put him in the record books. 2 more would have put him in 1st. I say they should have played him the second half. 7TDs in a half???

Incredible against any team.

Give Pead the rock!

Bucknuts - Bill Kurelic - 08/27/07

Isaiah discusses his favorites - West Virginia, Louisville, Maryland, Marshall, Pitt, Cincinnati, Indiana, and Wisconsin (all offered), plus Illinois, Purdue, and Ohio State (not offered).

After his 11-carry, 238-yard, 7-touchdown performance in week one, Ohio State might be looking at Pead as an offensive player. Isaiah also had five tackles on defense.

Grades and test scores will be an issue here.

It's sad that grades and scores will be an issue, but hopefully much like J. Hines this past year he gets everything in order and gets a late offer. Seems like a talented kid. Would love to see him get an offer.

No going to happen...they aren't taking any RBs other than Devoe and Isaiah did not have his best workout when he auditioned for the staff as a CB. He is going to make a great RB somewhere but he won't be donning the S&G.

If the staff didn't want McGuffie for the slot, why would they want Pead? Just my take on what I am hearing from people that know. Pead's best shot at an offer was at CB and it didn't happen for him.
