Iowa Hawkeyes (Official Thread of The Under)

Would require live feed of all22 footage.
First gen wouldn't be able to take advantage of substitutions or other inputs.

Other than that, i think AI would be extremely good at "suggesting" sequences. Picking up on what defense is doing very fast with adjustments, setting up plays that look similar but force D into choosing constraints and coming back with the opposite move.
Also feel it'd be ruthless once it identified a weakness. Wont suddenly decide "hey we haven't tried this bubble screen for a few minutes... seems like a good time to stall this drive out"
Id go first 4-6 games without it, then feed it every second of all22 footage from our team and next opponent.
Ask it to id habits, strengths, weaknesses of opposing team. And then formulate some sequence based on our plays.
Then show it live all22 footage and see what it suggests.
First couple years would probably be hot garbage.

I watched the 60-minute BTN replay of the 1990 game against the Hawkeyes in Iowa.
Big takeaways:
Cooper was such a terrible game day coach.
Hospital wasn't built yet, so no sick kid karma.
Iowa pretty much dominated the entire game, but.....
Buckeyes managed to win with a 3-yard TD pass from Frey to Olive with 0:01 on the clock.
Buckeye TD on last play of the first half was luckily deflected into Jeff Graham's hands to tighten the game to 3 points.
Bo Pelini was on the field some.
Even though Iowa seemed to have better talent, Hayden Fry always found a way to lose to us.
Under modern day officiating, there would have been 30 or more personal foul calls in that game and 10 ejections.

   fire him? Nah just reduce salary by 50k

  • Iowa’s offense is off to an inauspicious start as they chase 325 points, the magic number over a 13 game season that Iowa would need to hit in order to satisfy a clause in offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz’s amended contract. Iowa scored 14 points on their first two possessions including the first opening drive passing TD for the Hawkeyes in over 30 years. Then they only scored 10 more points in the entire game.
