Game Thread Iowa at tOSU, Sat. Oct. 5, 3:30pm ET, CBS

Here's a thought. Have Caleb 'spy' on the Iowa RB. He seems to be their engine, and if he's shut down, forces Cade to beat us with his arm, which ain't agonna happen. Don't know if a S is normally used as a spy, usually a LB, but appears that our current LB mix are still learning how to 'flow' to the ball, and not get stuck on an OL's block. Listened to a 'talking head' this morning, and he says he's waiting for the Buckeye D to get 'nasty'. That's also a good thought, as the D hasn't been such for three years now. Knowles doesn't look like a yeller type, so maybe JL or the 'new' Ryan Day can get in there and excite/stimulate the D? Would like to see the D put the Iowa OL on their collective a**es on the first three plays. Go Bucks! PS, Brinegar, if you're upstairs watching, bet another bottle of Laphroig on this one by 20?

Some of the running schemes Chip called up against Sparty, all out of the same formation, were truly impressive. We may even see more of the deep ball on Saturday. Go Bucks!
We'll try to run the ball for sure, but this might be a game where the pass opens up the run. This will easily be the best test to our offense this season. Not saying they don't go off on a track race regardless, but I am trying to manage my expectations early on in the game. I think we will pull away, but we better be ready to bring it on both sides of the ball to do so. Bucks 34 - Iowa 17 is my prediction.

So far we've been pretty vanilla on both sides of the ball. It's going to be interesting to see what Chip and Knowles dial up on both sides of the ball. On D will we see a lot of 4-3? Any five man front formations? On Offense will we try and stretch the field?
Go Bucks!
