Iowa 10, Illinois 6 (Final)

Illinois only has to beat Iowa by 4 points to double whatever you wager folks.

Benn has been a decent freshman contributor for Illinois. Was sad to see him decommit from the Irish, hes producing well with Zook though. Not sure why Iowa gets all the love they do, Illinois should be able to handle them.

As featured on Fiutak's Cavalcade of Whimsy, which is the kiss of death. I put what little I had available on it, though. :)

I wish I had more to blow. This is one of the two best lines this week (says the guy with no vCash -- large grain of salt applies).

[devil's advocate]Illinois' defense is nothing to write home about. They could give up 20 points to air. So they just might give up 15-17 points to Iowa.

Iowa's defense has been not-so-great, but not nearly as bad as their offense. And Iowa's defense seems to be built like a typical Iowa defense; stout against the run, not so much against the pass. On the surface, this seems to be a less than horrific match-up vs. Illinois, who is near the bottom of the league in passing efficiency. They might hold the Illini to 21 points or so.[/devil's advocate]

If I put v$ on this game though, it will probably be on Illinois. The Hawkeyes don't appear to have the speed to deal with the Illini option game.

Only thing that even remotely concerns me is Illinois youth+Zook= capable of laying an egg at anytime. Let down game on the road after two big emotional wins at home would seem as good a place for that to happen as any. You just never know with a young team.

That said I think they can sleepwalk and still beat Iowa by more than 4. Iowa is bad, bad.
