Internet Problems

I'm having some trouble opening up websites that I have been able to go to in the past. When i try to access them now, one of two things happens:

A) I get a message that says: "this page can not be displayed..the page you are trying to access is unavailable."
or
B) It goes to the MSN search page and says the site doesnt exist

Anybody know what this could be or how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is this at home or at work? have you updated IE or your OS lately?

can we have an example site?

I would guess either browser security settings, or something has edited your hosts files. Need some examples though, like IAB said.
