Sorry, but if Boren chooses scUM, these "insider" reports are really starting to piss me off. I am not discoutning any of their info, it is just that they come out with this info so early when these kids are still pondering a decision and things change. I got my hopes up for Boren because of the "Boren will be a Buckeye" comments by them, and not it is looking more and more like thay is not going to happen. Please don't come out with anthing making it seem set in stone, but rather say something like "Boren is leaning towards the Bucks"... or vice versa.
 
Bgriff...or we could stop posting altogether..if that would make you happier....


guys..get a grip...this is a 17 year old kid that we are talking about--and yes, kids, do change their minds

there are some things that would not be productive for me to post at this time that would "explain" the "Boren will be a Buckeye" posts...(as opposed to Boren MAY be a Buckeye)---

patience people.....

Excuse me, but when exactly would you like to hear the inside info? On NLOID, when the kids' choices become official? Recruiting is a long process (and getting longer all of the time), and the "news" won't always "break" when you are ready to hear it (and, in any case, Boren's decision hasn't yet been made). Why not fault Mike Farrell as well, for releasing premature speculation?

Give guys like NV & HH a break - they are posting info because YOU (and hundreds of others just like you) want to read it; if you (and the rest) don't want to read it, then chill in the Arcade until February, but don't blast them in this forum.

I was just simply stating that I, and I don't know if I am the only one, would rather hear information that lets us know he leaning towards us rather than posts that make it seem like he has his mind made up already. Saying "Boren will be a Buckeye, whether he has told the staf or not, makes it seems as though no matter what Boren will be a Buckeye. People hear this, and becuase of the past history of the poster, take it for the truth and believe the kid will be a Buckeye. I am not blasting them, and I do love hearing their information, just wondering if they could post it in a different manner?

I'm certain that they could, and then some would be complaining that all of our "insiders" sound like Bill Kurelic. Just take their info as an accurate snap shot of a particular situation, but realize that the situation always could (and often does) change.

Recruiting should not be a spectator sport. It is shame that it has, but I - llike so many others - enjoy following the process. That said, while I wish all the studs would eventyally come to OSU they are kids and should do whatever the hell they please.

By the same token, guys like Nevada and HH who have informatin of a quality few can match, should post however the hell they please.

I am content to listen to the information given, be it speculation, or factual. I am a Buckeye Planet forum football junkie! HH, NB, LJB, you guys just keep it comin'! Posting info with "Child gloves" is just not exhilarating. I am not for, Y-A-W-N, boring posts... The suspense kills me at times, but I wouldn't want it any other way! Come on Boren, go Scarlet and Gray!

how about instead of them posting in a different manner, you realize that it could be the recruit himself saying he will go to XXX, and that doesn't mean squat until NLOID. You're the one that decided to take everything said here as if it was 100% fact. You're the one that needs to change the way you perceive things.

To HH, NevadaBuck, and any other "insider": Unlike others at bucknuts and very few here, I appreciate all the info and insight you give us, when you give it to us, and however much you want to give us. Please don't think everybody here shares in the views of BGriff. You are appreciated. Thank you.

One other thing while I'm in the mood. I don't apologize for my passion to gleen info on my buckeyes, its one of the things I look forward to when I come home from a hard days work. We will know in due time where this young man wants to play at. This is what make it soooo fun for me. Gotta go!

Please, I do not want to get into a war of words by any means. I love the info given and I love coming onto this site. I feel I have built up a nice reputation for myself, and I do not want to blow it oin a stupid comment I made. I really do like the what NB, HH and everybody else provides, it was just a little bit of letting off some steam after a long day and a lot of built up stress right now... family, not recruiting related. Please don't think of me as being ungrateful.

For those who can't quite see it let me try to put the info provided by HH, Nevada et al in perspective.

These are 'made guys'. They have a much better idea of what is going on inside the program than we ever will and their opinions reflect that. It is reallly, really cool to have those kind of linkages.

When they believe something was going to happen that didn't happen it is probably the case that the coaches thought something was going to happen that didn't happen. If you understand that it becomes very easy to interpret everything they say. If you also understand that kids are entitled to make their own college choices (without regard to hypothetical fences) and further entitled to change direction from time to time this whole process becomes much easier to deal with.

If, on the other hand, you find that a teenager's college choice is triggering adverse physical symptoms you really need to rethink your attachment to the recruiting process.

let me say this about two of my friends:

like it or not...Nevada gives you the EXACT thing that the coaches are thinking about any issue.....I am 100% sure of this...

like it or not....HH gives you the EXACT thoughts certain recruits are having and the EXACT thoughts the coaches are thinking...I am 100% sure of this..

me....well a few here know my role...

now....over days, weeks and months (depending on the subject) things change.....

If NevadaBuck is posting statements that a recruit will choose OSU, why not hold him to it. As I recall, he never said Boren was torn. It was more like "he will be a Buckeye". People were giving all kinds of weight to what he said. I wouldn't put HH and NB in the same category. HH is legit and talks to the recruits in many instances. There is no mystery in his posts. I may get banned for this post, but why do most posters hang on to what NB says? I asked this before and the answers weren't too specific. Has NB nailed any predictions before? I am just curious. Posters should know that if they are going to make statements like "he will be a buckeye" people will check them on their credibility. This post isn't meant as a flame. It is an attempt to understand how NB became noted as a reliable "inside" source.
