getting shelled

Eh, he's entitled to a clunker after starting off much better than most ever expected. What's inexcusable is these pussies absolute inability to plate runs. AsCab, Choo and Kearns (of all fucking people) are the only hitters earning their keep. I'm growing more and more concerned that LaPorta is going to be a bust the more I see of him. He's not some raw prospect. He's 25 and a college kid. He should have more than 1 fucking RBI in 59 t bats. I expect him to be jettisoned to Columbus in the next week or two. Sizemore is either still hurt, was on juice and is now off of juice, or completely forgot how to hit. Hafner, same as Sizemore (and given his age, I'm more apt to say he's finished...he's finished). Peralta appears to be going on one of his torrid streaks, but don't worry, he'll stop hitting for a few weeks soon...streaky fat bastard. I came in hoping Valbuena could at least be solid at 2B...looks like I was wrong. Our catchers are Lou Marson and Mike Redmond...facepalm.

In short, they're still shitty. Fuck me, they're basically unwatchable most nights. I was excited about this season because of the expected infusion of youth. Watching that youth flail around like a catfish on a boardwalk isn't any fun. Not one of them is doing shit. If Santana isn't Johnny Bench reincarnate when he's called up, I might shoot myself.

Agree with most of this.

They just simply aren't good. Can't really be surprised when shitty players play shitty baseball.

There'll be some bright spots at times this year. Tonight isn't one. Twins are a far better team, just the way it is.

(not to say we can't still rant and rave about how shitty they are. I'll still do it.)

Absolutely, I said all along this was gonna be a rough year. But, there are some disturbing things going on that don't bode very well for the future if they aren't corrected. I mean, we all knew the Hafner contract was gonna be an albatross, but for Grady to continue to hit like Alvaro Espinoza is not good. LaPorta has shown nothing to indicate he's going to be a ML player. At 25, he should be producing...at least some. Brantley flopped, but at least he is still a kid. Marson makes me pine for Chris Bando and Andy Allanson. Valbuena looks like a platoon player at best. I guess it's still early, but it's ingrained in my Cleveland fan psyche to panic/overreact.

I'm also growing increasingly concerned they're gonna ruin a potentially very good middle reliever (Masterson) by continuing to trot him out there in the 1st inning to get shelled. Anybody that has half a brain can see that guy is not a starting pitcher.

the gas can Joe Smith was optioned to AAA and Hector Ambriz was recalled (pitched 1.0 scoreless vs twins in last game)

Indians Prospect Insider: Ambriz Activated, Smith Optioned To Columbus

On Thursday afternoon the Cleveland Indians announced that right-handed reliever Hector Ambriz was activated from the 15-day disabled list. To allow room for Ambriz on the 25-man roster, the Indians optioned right-handed reliever Joe Smith to Triple-A Columbus.
