Indians Tidbits (2007 Season)

They only thing epic in this debacle of an ALCS was the meltdown by two serious Cy Young award candidates. When, in their four starts, neither makes it past the 4th inning you've got little chance at success. My Byrd should share that HGH stash with his teammates.

You ain't kidding. Hopefully the real Pronk shows up in late February, because he only was here for very brief stretches this season and just got a FAT contract.

I'll always love Ohio sports...got family there...I'm just displaced here in Indy :)

as soon as someone starts an Indians 2008 season thread...I'll be in there ready to go for another run

I support Ohio sports, but after the Boomer era of the Bengals my grandfather told me he could never support them. Plus it's a lot easier for me to go up to San Diego, or down the street to Anahiem Stadium, or across the street to the Pond and watch teams. Realistically, it's not like most of the players are from where they play. Hell, the Ducks are mostly Canadian, and the Chargers have two or three Buckeyes on them, it's just laundry. If you can sit at home and watch on your TV or actually go to a game and feel the rush when the time comes it makes it all the better.

That's my thoughts anyways, but if an Ohio team makes it, I hope they win, but if they are playing my team, I am going to root for my team. Last year Bengals VS Chargers is a good example, I support the Chargers, I was happy when they won, if the Bengals had won it would have sucked because they beat the team I support, however, if they had been playing anyone else, I would have been happy to see them win.

Anyways, you take the good with the bad, there's going to be good years and bad years, but all the bad years make the good years that much sweeter.

Actually, Carmona had 1 good start against the Yanks. 1 of 5 isn't going to get it done.

And when Sabbathia signs a huge contract with another team (my money is on the Angels) I will remember this series and not be so bummed out.

Indians Baseball = Bitter Pill

That's about the sum of my feelings. I know I'll keep taking it, but it's a good thing there's an entire offseason to forget this and allow hope to slowly rebuild. This is the first season my wife has CLOSELY followed the Tribe with me. She was pretty frustrated with the last three games. I wasn't as much, since I've been cautiously optimistic since game 4 ended, because I experienced the pain of 1997. It's times like these when my ability to get overly excited takes a permanent hit. Pretty soon I'll need a version of Cialis that will allow my mind to be aroused by possible sporting success.

Also, this is the reason I can only be a "fan" of one Cleveland sport. If I had to experience this combined with Cavs and Browns performances, it wouldn't take long to find the nearest tall building and wander off the edge...

Good thing I still have the Buckeyes to cling to. :oh:

Wow, just wow. You remind me of all the idiots during the NC game last year that were all angry over the Bucks loss. Take the good with the bad or support someone else.

And just because you deserve it.

:tibor:

I do support them and when they suck ass I can rip them too

Just because you deserve it!:wink2:

I'm forced to say it again:

Sizemore
Hafner
Sabbathia
Carmona
Gutierrez
Perez

Those guys did much, much worse in this post season than in the regular season. That's a hell of a lot of tanking guys to win a series. 500 lb anchor being drug around in the desert. Hafner 10 strikeouts in 16 at bats? :shake:
See billmac's post, it sums it up perfectly. The much better team won.
