Indians Tidbits (2007 Season)

Is there a bigger horse's ass in baseball than that fucking freak? He, his hair and his hotdogging can go straight to hell.

When he came up in the 8th with 2 outs I would have considered sticking a ball in his fucking ear. Obviously the Tribe has more class than that.

Some mustard with that hot dog, you fucking retard?

I was in a car getting food when Manny hit his homerun. The announcer said he was acting like a douche(my wording, not his) afterwards. Was that the case?

Yes. He stood there for what seemed to be an eternity admiring his individual accomplishment. The best revenge for Cleveland would be to close this series out Thursday (can someone tell me Thursday instead of tomorrow?) as a team.

If someone had told me last week the Tribe would have a 3-1 lead with neither Sabathia nor Carmona having a win, I would have had them committed.

I can't say it enough... I love this team.

:groove:

Seeming more and more like a team of destiny. I was ready to stick a fork in them back in August when the entire lineup had forgotten how to hit for six weeks, but damn, these guys are playing better overall than any of those great nineties teams that came oh so close.

These Indians classier than 1990s playoff lot

By Sean McClelland
Staff Writer

Wednesday, October 17, 2007
CLEVELAND ? When the Cleveland Indians were good in the 1990s, they weren't always so lovable.
In one corner you had Albert Belle cussing out Hannah Storm and later attempting to excuse his behavior by saying he thought she was Lesley Visser. This was around the time Belle was running down trick-or-treaters, corking bats, indenting Fernando Vina and chopping down clubhouse thermostats.

Indians Beat Red Sox 7-3, Lead ALCS 3-1

By TOM WITHERS
AP Sports Writer
CLEVELAND ? Hang tight, Colorado Rockies. There's another team roaring through October. And you just might see them in the World Series.
The Cleveland Indians, relying on a throwback pitcher who looks as if he stepped out of their 1948 team photo, moved one win from another crack at winning an elusive championship.

Wakefield Wilts in Game 4 Loss to Tribe

By HOWARD ULMAN
AP Sports Writer
CLEVELAND ? Casey Blake hit Tim Wakefield's pitch over the left-field fence ? eerily similar to the drive Aaron Boone hit exactly four years earlier.
Another playoff loss for Wakefield and the Red Sox.

On the brink of glory One more win puts Tribe in Series
Published on Wednesday, Oct 17, 2007

CLEVELAND: One more.
One silly, stinking game. One win is all it takes now for the Indians to reach the World Series.
It won't be easy, merely because it never is. This is Cleveland, lest we forget.

BYRD IS THE WORD Starter holds tight. Wakefield gives Tribe opening in seven-run fifth
By Sheldon Ocker Beacon Journal sportswriter
Published on Wednesday, Oct 17, 2007
CLEVELAND: It's not the ace and the backup ace, stupid.
When the American League Championship Series began, many observers thought that the Indians' only hope against the Boston Red Sox was for C.C. Sabathia and Fausto Carmona to outpitch Josh Beckett and Curt Schilling.

Martinez not worried about Sabathia Indians' ace will be back on mound for ALCS Game 5 on Thursday
By Sheldon Ocker Beacon Journal sportswriter
Published on Wednesday, Oct 17, 2007
CLEVELAND: He's only the Indians' catcher, so Victor Martinez can't guarantee that C.C. Sabathia and Fausto Carmona will deliver stellar performances, but he's optimistic.

American League rivals impressed by Rockies Indians, Red Sox watch 'storybook' postseason for Mile High City team

By Stephanie Storm Beacon Journal sportswriter
Published on Wednesday, Oct 17, 2007
CLEVELAND: As focused as the Indians and Boston Red Sox have been in this American League Championship Series, players and coaches have taken a moment to sneak a peek at the future competition.
And what the Indians and Red Sox have seen on TV and the Internet in National League postseason play has been nothing short of amazing even by their lofty standards.

Indians in the Playoffs: Mark Gillispie's On the Scene

Rainy night Tuesday in the ALCS

Posted by Mark Gillispie, Jodie Valade October 16, 2007 20:12PM

The grounds crew at Jacobs Field began rolling up the tarp covering the infield shortly after 5 p.m. because of a weather forecast that appeared to be favorable for playing Game 4. The chance of rain at gametime was 30 percent.
Once they removed the tarp, they began emptying bags of a kitty litter-like material that acts as a drying agent. Other members of the grounds crew used leaf blowers to rid the infield and outfield of some water.
The high-tech drainage system installed when Jacobs Field was built is supposed to be able to handle as much as 12 inches of rain an hour.
"I hope I never see that," said Indians vice president Bob DiBiasio.

Chuck Crow/The Plain DealerMatt Doerfler of Wooster and his buggy costume summed up the mood at Jacobs Field on Tuesday night. One more win, Boston bugs off for good and the Indians are in the World Series.
Tim Wakefield's knuckleball floated and danced like an over-caffeinated butterfly.
