NEW YORK: The question persisted, and the answer was the same: no, a thousand times no.
Why wouldn't Indians manager Eric Wedge start his ace, C.C. Sabathia, on the most important night in the Indians' season, Game 4 of the American League Division Series, Monday night at Yankee Stadium?
Over and over, media from Northeast Ohio and New York plus other outposts around the country posed the same question. Yes, Sabathia would have had to pitch on short rest, but Yankees manager Joe Torre was allowing Chien-Ming Wang to start Monday after being idle for only three days rather than four.
