Game Thread Indiana @ Ohio State - 10/06/18, 4:00PM (FOX)

I took my dad and we both thought it turned out to be a really fun game. I mean, certainly some frustrating and even bewildering moments, but it ended up a pretty respectable margin of victory, and as may have been mentioned already... 455. Dwayne Haskins is special, and him plus this year's WR group is just a ton of fun. Indiana gives us a better game than they should, yet again.

Also, fuck those refs. Their 3rd quarter was an embarassment.

Hype machine or no, a person who can put up Tua's numbers should get the Heisman. Lot's of quarterbacks have played lots of crap schedules over the past hundred years; no one has come close to putting together a season like his.

The main knock against him is that he's attempting so few passes.

Doesn't matter to me. He's the best college football player in the country to my eyes. (It kills me to say it, but it's my genuine opinion)

The Heisman isn't even best offensive player anymore. It's the one with the most "wow moments" in "big games". And even that, I'm unsure of.
Henry got a Heisman.
When you factor in the cheats and shitbags like Reggie, Manziel, Jameis, etc. ... the award is all the worst elements of a popularity contest.

I half expect Tua to win it not for anything he's done this year... but for coming in and winning the NC last year.

That said, run pro isn't good. They've loaded the box for decades against this program and have still had dominant run games

The Urban Meyer offense has been at OSU since 2012

This is the first time he has had a QB who is no threat to run the ball.

If you expect them to just man ball it down teams throats when 5 are trying to block 6 or 6 on 7 then you are going to be consistently frustrated.

Everyone in the world knew OSU was going from a runner to a thrower at QB

Passing stats are up, running stats are down yet people want to wring their hands and worry about the running game

I just don't understand it. We've talked about it since the summer. Can't run when outnumbered.
Offense will not be elite until the line is. This line is soft and gets little push when needed. 2 try’s against IU for one yard and you can’t get the push for it...Woody is rolling in his grave....
That's what I mean... can't run for much really... as we know, you dont win a title without a great rush game.

This is serious now.

We are really struggling to run the ball and struggling to stop the pass.

Purdont is going to throw for 400+ on this defense. That's not a slam either that's just a fair analysis. If IU can go for 300+ than Purdue is a very scary proposition.

Just not sure how we fix it.

Don't expect that. Problem is consistency. There is none in the run game regardless of a mobile qb. Not outnumbered every play yet push upfront isn't great. Not really not that frustrated though is an obvious flaw in the offense.
