Indiana Hoosiers (2025 National Champions)

I suppose that there's some recency bias at work, but doesn't the 2025-26 Indiana team have to be in the discussion for best ever? A 16-0 record with "playoff" wins against powerhouse programs Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon, and Miami, not to mention the Heisman Trophy winner.
Greatest team debate could be based on talent of the players on it vs body of work.

Sometimes there is overlap but in this case it may not.

But first and only 16-0 with the championship game and playoff run they had is definitely worthy of being in the discussion.

ESPiN has Indiana as Number 1 for this coming season. Makes sense since they ended the year there although Miami comes in at 8.
We lost to the #1 team by three points and the #2 team by ten points--which were our only two losses of the season--and we return our Heisman Trophy finalist at QB and the best WR in the country this coming season, and yet we get ranked at #6 in the pre-season poll?

It should have been closer than that: With the score 17-14 and only :55 left in the game we just let them score so we could get the ball back. It was 2nd and goal and we had no timeouts. Notice how nobody tried to tackle Brown.
