Go tell her you're offended with her taking offense to what you consider to be "art."

Actually, I had considered that. There's no specific doctrine here prohibiting a picture like that one of Anna (since it is decidedly not pornographic), so how can I reasonably put up with my freedom of expression being stifled?

All it really makes me want to do is strap this bitch to a dentist's chair, staple her eyelids to her forehead and force her to watch Fuck My Dirty Shithole (yes, that's a real film) on loop until she starts convulsing and swallows her tongue.

In any case, I'm a 24-year-old male. If any part of their concern (since a client seeing my computer is practically impossible) is me being aroused at work, I've got some bad news. Asking me to not be aroused during an eight hour work day is like asking the office manager to not be ugly.

Although I do think the pictures go too far for the workplace, I think it could have been handled better.

I think the boss should handle it more inconspicuously and just make a sly remark hinting to the fact it needs to be changed.

vr,

Document, in writing, what she said to you; and as objectively as possible how she acted, noting the date and time. It may become useful to you down the line. And do the same with any future exchanges.

While in Vietnam we had a colonel, division chief of staff, go off on short timer calendars and Playboy pin ups. The short timer calendars were raunchy and poor art work. The pin ups were pre pubic hair Playboy, peeping-through-the-hole-in-the-girls-shower variety. If you discount the four Red Cross volunteers and the fifteen or so nurses who worked at the base camp, there were no women in the area. The colonel walked through our hooches, officers and enlisted, and tore stuff down, or ordered it torn down and even levied some penalties. The bitching about the new policy managed to work it's way up to the Stars and Stripes from whence it jumped to the mainstream press. Still, even in 1969 PC mentality, the policy held... although the colonel never got his star as did most infantry division chiefs.

Such stuff as we posted in our tents and offices would never fly in today's Army. It's not a case of being pornographic or even merely provocative. It's a case of "is it appropriate?" The answer, then and now, is no. As to how it was handled, then and now, both office bitches were wrong in their methods.

Which brings up my question... this is hardly the first time I've heard tales of supes who explode... how do such people get in such positions of power? I spent 26 years in the reserves and had only one or two cases where the guy in charge of me was explosive. I ran into exactly two explosive supes in 30 years as a teacher. Yet I hear a great many complaints from nieces, nephews and daughter about supes who go off as a means of expressing themselves. Is this what the current management scenario looks like?

Yes and No. It seems everywhere I have worked their is at least one manager that I have worked with(when I was a manager) or for(as an employee) who felt the best way to get anything out of employees was to scram and yell. The thing with most of these people I have found was that when their bosses were around they were very nice and helpful to their employees but asses when the Big Boss wasn't around.

I will just give an example of the most extreme manager that I every worked with. He was the GM I was the First AM (second is charge of the store). When it was just another AM their he would yell scream belittle every employee in the place. I would get yelled at all the time for actually talking to the employees and acting like I cared about their life outside of work. and example one Saturday night he came in (on his day off) when we were on a wait, and started walking around making notes. After about 45 mins of walking around he tells me he needs to talk to me. And starts complaining about stupid shit like there were 3 cig. butts on the ground outside, and that the bartenders had to many open checks (even though they had a full bar). I finally just walked away, the next day I told him that he needed to learn to be nicer to the employees and ask them to do things nicely and not just yell all of the time. It didn't get any better, he actually starting breaks all sorts of rules and policies, which of course the Regional Manager never beleived when she was told about them because he was a model employee when she was around.

Finally after he started speading rumors that I was sleeping with one of the waitresses I decided I needed to transfer. I told My regional that I could work there anymore and that I needed to be at a new store. Of course she agreed, not because I wasn't getting along with the GM but because of the rumor that I was sleeping with an employee. Anyway I got transferred, my last day there he said to me that I was throwing My career with the company away by not wanting to work with him and I would never learn anything from any other GM etc. A week later I get a call at My new store saying they need me to transfer back to my old store for awhile because the GM was a registered sex offender and had hide it from everyone in the company.

Moral of the story....most of the people who are real assholes in my mind have something about themselves they are trying to hide. And by keeping everyone in "fear" they think they can do what ever they want while keeping the spotlight off themselves.
