My bet is it's a little more cost-prohibitive than people expected. Most scramble-type golf outings that I play in cost between $30-$40, so it's a little pricey.
To get a price like that you probably need sponsors for all of the holes. Most of the outings I play in are in the $30-$40 range too.

I think it costs around $40 just to play 18 with a cart anywhere. Oakhaven is $40 on the weekends. If you throw in food, prizes, beer, range balls etc. I don't see how it could be any less. Maybe we could get the Chiller, or some other ice skating establishment to kick in some money for sponsorship.

hawg,

If we have coupons are they valid... I think oakhaven sends coupons to most everybody is columubs in the form of those value-pak coupons... I don't recall if it is a discounted rate, buy one get one, or buy three get one... but I'm sure they have coupons floating around...

Can we use coupons if we are registered as a group? If we brought enough coupons we might be able to bring down the cost...

I thought it was a bit pricey as well... I'm still playing... I figured it'd be $40 or $50-$60 with beer included... at any rate, the price is what it is. I think PM's should be sent to see if we can get some of the original "yes" folks to commit...

I know for me it is not the cost. It is the date. I have 2 golf outings the next 2 weekends (July 23 & 30th). So my fiance has put her foot down :sad2: and says I can't go golfing 3 weekends in a row and keeps nagging me about a yard project I started on my own and she is tired of seeing her backyard ripped apart :p

"Sorry hun I told them I would play a long time ago and they're counting on me."

Hell my soon to be fiance was planning on going to Florida that weekend and I told her she had to stay in town to keep my ringers g/f company.

I understand that you're probably going to drop at least $40 to play 18, but most courses give discounts if you have a large group come...and the closest to the pin, longest drive, longest putt, etc. is easy to set up. As for food and prizes...who needs them? Or why not just have our own? I'd have an easier time if I knew that some of the $ was going to BP. Count me in, though, if anybody needs a fourth. None of my friends are interested in playing because of the cost. I'm a great scramble golfer, because I always have one really good shot per hole. Of course, I have only one good shot per hole.
