Just sack up and say you'll play now...if we don't need you, then you're cool...but this way we can count on you. If you're dependable, that is.

By the way, when you do play, I'm gonna be severely disappointed if you don't throw at least 3 clubs during the course of playing...nah, seriously, you won't even get pissed. It's a lot worse to play like it's your first time when it isn't, then it is to play like your first time when it is. Trust me, I have a ton of experience at the former.

I am not sure, but most courses will not let you out on the course if you are not playing, or do not have clubs. I think they would expect you to sit back at the clubhouse wherever they put the outing people and get fucked up there. If you were planning on going out on the course, you might as well hit the ball.
