Ohio State hosts 2015 guard: Also in attendance for Ohio State’s victory over San Diego State was Matt Jones of Hubbard, Ohio. Jones is a four-star prospect rated by Scout.com as the No. 6 offensive guard in the 2015 recruiting class.

A 6-4, 295-pound prospect, Jones has early offers from Kentucky, Toledo and West Virginia, but he’s garnering interest from Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and others.

Columbus linebacker was also in attendance: With Ohio State’s 2014 recruiting class almost full, the coaching staff has started to focus more on the 2015 class. And one of the best junior linebackers in the country happens to be in the Buckeyes backyard in Columbus Walnut Ridge prospect Anthony McKee.

A four-star prospect rated by Scout as the No. 11 outside linebacker in the 2015 class, McKee was also in attendance for Ohio State’s win over San Diego State. Though he doesn’t have an offer from the Buckeyes, one could be coming soon. The 6-1, 195-pound prospects does have offers from programs such as Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia and others.

I was wondering if there were any potential big time Glenville recruits for 2015 class, and my question is answered with this thread. Does anybody know how his season went?

Their best prospect is a linebacker, Matthew Draper. They also have a couple WR/DB types that will get some attention. Definitely one of their weakest classes unless they get some transfers during the offseason.

Rivals $ - Battleground 2015: U-M still hitting Ohio hard

A look at UM's offers in Ohio since 2011...for reference looking through the Rivals database:

In 2011 they landed seven kids, none of whom had OSU offers.
In 2012 they landed nine kids, three of whom OSU offered (Kyle Kalis, Tom Strobel and Chris Wormley).
In 2013 they landed nine kids, four of whom OSU offered (Dymonte Thomas, Ben Gedeon, Mike McCray and De'Veon Smith).
In 2014 they landed two kids, one of whom OSU offered (Mike Ferns).

2011 was excusable because UM was coming off of Rodriguez being canned and Brady Hoke only had a short time to put a class together, similar to what Meyer had to do in 2012 when OSU lost out on two kids (Kalis and Strobel) who at one point were thought to be OSU leans under Tressel (the article says Joe Bolden was offered by OSU in 2012 but I don't remember his recruitment that well and I don't see an OSU offer listed in any of his profiles at the major sites). OSU never really had much of a shot at Wormley. In 2013 there was one OSU offered early (Thomas), one OSU seemed to offer half-heartedly (Smith), one OSU offered late (McCray) and one that was never really interested in OSU (Gedeon). Similarly to Gedeon you had Ferns in 2014 that OSU never really had a great shot at. As has been noted, the only problem with all of this is that every year we have to here the storyline from up north about the Ohio kids looking for retribution against the Buckeyes. Conversely OSU only takes about 1-2 kids a year from the state of Michigan. The downside for Michigan is that they have not defended their own state as well as of late and have recently given up ground to MSU for in-state kids that traditionally would have been Michigan locks in the past.

So far in 2015 they've offered four kids in the OhioPrep top 10 (Jerome Baker, Justin Hilliard, Shaun Crawford and Tyree Kinnel) and landed two (Crawford and Kinnel), one of whom OSU offered (Crawford). They also offered and landed kicker Andrew David from Massilon. They are also tracking Nick Conner and Reagan Williams. 2013 was one of their best years ever in Ohio considering Hoke went head-to-head with Meyer and landed four Ohio kids with OSU offers. With their home state looking weaker in 2015 outside of a few top players, UM will definitely look to battle in Ohio again in 2015.
