That would not be received well, nor should it. A visiting fan is welcome to disagree all he wants, but he's not going to lob derogatory insults at the home team or coach.

Beginning to waver in my confidence of your statement, Jim Tressel. I'm not sure Eddie McGee's head is attached at this point. Of course, you really only complained about the defenseless player thing, saying that you didn't agree that Coleman "was targeting a defenseless player?" I mean, I read over on Buckeye Planet that McGee wasn't fully down yet. Maybe there's another angle of this that will clear that up.

As you'll no doubt read through a flurry of PMs and responses to this thread, however, bashing/name-calling of players, coaches, and officials with the University are off limits.

Even other mods have been banned for the parting shots you included in your posts, so I think the fact you've only received a warning speaks to how well respected you are here.

You can be critical, you can be brutally honest if you choose, but under no circumstances can you ever sling insults at the coach or a player.

BP's policy has always been clear on this.

After posting, I ate a ham sammich. It was good. It straightened me out.

And quitting now would be backing out on my bet. One that I fully need to repay. It will be cathartic for me, as I've never been more disappointed in any team I've followed my entire life.

From how I read the response by Tress and Smith, it seemed like their beef with the suspension was that the officials on the field all saw the play clearly, flagged Coleman, and did not eject him. Granted there were only 36 seconds left, but they felt that officials on the field should have a much better perspective on a player's intent than officials watching the game tape. It sounded like if Coleman was ejected, they would have no problem with the one game suspension.
