Living in the midst of Illini Nation..football season ends with the 1st day of Basketball Practice. They could sign The Msssiah(not Obama) tomorrow and most Illini fans wouln't notice till Weber and Co are dispatched from March Madness. Football is more a party for the weekends in fall ..Basketball is their passion.

Tank Carradine off Illini's list - Illinois Fighting Illini Sports Football News - IlliniHQ.com

CINCINNATI - Taft High School defensive end Tank Carradine, who made a commitment to Illinois on Nov. 18, won't be signing with the school Wednesday.

Taft coach Mike Martin, a former Illini, said academics are the issue.

"He's going to sign with somebody," Martin said. "We knew some of the these issues going in and I was told that there's a possibility they could hold a scholarship for him once everything got straightened out. Now, everything's changing."

With Illinois off his list, Martin said Carradine is considering offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, North Carolina State and Michigan.

"He's going to have the same issue, but he could still sign," Martin said. "He's still going to have to pass."

Martin said Carradine is taking extra classes to help him gain his college eligibility.

Well, they did get Green correct.

Just looked at Rival's and Scout team rankings, and Illinois is no where to be found on Scout (only lists their top 25) and is #35 on Rivals. They have no 5-star commits on either site and 2/3 of their class are 3-stars and below on Rivals, while 3/4 of their class are 3-stars and below on Scout. Their overall class flat out sucks...and that's even with them stealing Green from us at the last second.
