Illinois Fighting Illini (you'll see)

An Illinois perspective about Tim Beckman and his assistants

Beckman's prospects after the 2015 season as explained in the article, which I agree with:

1. Wins 6+ games, goes to a bowl and the Cvijanovic accusations are false: keeps job
2. The Cvijanovic accusations are for real: fired
3. Wins <6 games: fired

Pretty simple. Doesn't matter if he brought in a better recruiting class last year. Doesn't matter he has increased the program's win total each year. There is a lot riding on this season for him.

OOC
Kent State
Western Illinois
at UNC
MTSU

B1G
Nebraska
at Iowa
bye
Wisconsin
at PedState
at Purdue
Ohio State
at Minny
Northwestern

He better run the OOC schedule because there aren't a lot of B1G wins easy to see there.

Maybe you all haven't been paying attention, but the Illini recruiting train has been amassing a bunch of Florida 2 & 3* kids. Anybody that knows anything about recruiting knows that FL 2 and 3* kids are the same as anybody else's 4 and 5*'s. So, they're about to become very Miami-esque. Just wait, you'll see.

It appears that scUM fans and Illini fans have something in common after all.

Illinois has no shot here.

Hey, remember back in the summer of 2008, and for a couple of years after that when their fanbase was filled with a bunch of blowhards (and one glorious sumbitch) that actually thought they were about to become a CFB powerhouse? Remember how obnoxious they were?

Well, to their credit, they now seem to realize their rightful place in the B1G and CFB pecking order...

That will be a fun thread to follow.

God, I wish ThaKid was still around. :argh:

I really think we should give Lane Kiffin a run for the job. I mean it wouldn't hurt us he brings a lot of excitement everywhere he goes and that's what this football program needs.

i mean might as well
Is every damn midwestern school with a hc opening going to have fans bringing up tressel for the next 20 years?

:slappy: :slappy: :slappy: Yeah Tressel would go there. You know what Illinois is? JT is Peter North, and Illinois is 50 year old saggy porn tits. Why would a guy sign up for that after having Tori Black for over a decade? Yeah, I don't know either.

It's hilarious that part of their fan base is worried about the prospect of hiring a young coach that would just use the Illinois job as a stepping stone, because for my entire adult life that job has been a sheer cliff face with a parade of lemmings marching to their coaching deaths.

A stepping stone would be a huge upgrade over what that job has been for at least 20 years.

I don't know. I bet the Zooker considers zipping around on his jet ski an upgrade...
