Re: Kendrick Nunn Unofficial Visit on Thursday
Whoever says Nunn isn't a stud and an elite player is kidding themselves. He doesn't take over games because he doesn't have to, but he's definitely capable. He's not 5'11 either, more like 6'1, and his game improves every year. I haven't even mentioned the freaky athleticism. If they get Nunn, and then follow up with Parker, etc. then you can book your NC tickets soon. I would bet on it.

Also read that he has run a 10.6-10.7 100 yard dash. That's pretty fast. I like this offer a lot. Hopefully he commits soon and gets the momentum rolling for staying home in-state (And in his city...Augusta is blowing up nationally and I'm still hopeful on LTT). I see all these artlcles like the one with stud 2014 GA S Nick Glass committing to Georgia and many others doing the same in their home state, and in the articles they're all citing "staying home, representing, winning a championship" as their reason for staying. I wonder what the Illinois guys are waiting on. People already doubt Illinois as a football state as it is (Including some on this board). Why not get together and show them wrong, put Illinois on the map in football. I guess they all don't think like me though. Hopefully guys like Bailey, Pocic, Foster, Augusta, Mosley, Jackson, Treadwell, Goebal, Keeler, etc. etc. realize that they can win a NC at home if they all stay.

Re: Illini in top five for Bailey
I'm not going to go back to the past, but I will say this:LloydCarrIsSmegma wrote:
Faithfully consistent Kid. I hope he verbals so I can see some ultimate kool-aid predictions.....spiked with a sh!tload of everclear. it's been a while since we have seen a 12-0 prediction. I forget the last one you had though it centered around 3 out of 4 BCS appearances. What were the specifics of that one, I forget?ThaKid101 wrote:
Yep. Perfect QB to lead the Illini NC status (Certainly one or more BCS games). I think Bailey should be a 5 star. He's that good. If he commits to the Illini soon that would be huge.CUtoCU wrote: This guy seems like the perfect Beckman QB.
If they get Bailey along with Pocic, Treadwell, etc. then expect those predictions to come back. If they do that in addition to grabbing guys like Augusta (Has blown up nationally with offers like Oklahoma, ND, Michigan, etc.), Jackson (He's next...a young Vince Wilfork...watch a lot of programs offer when they see his film), Darius Mosley, etc. on defense then those expectations will go up even more. Obviously they will need to add a lot more players of that type of quality, but those guys would be a hell of a start. And I should add that it's not a matter of if they will get those types of guys...they will. It's going to be interesting to see how this class unfolds, because I think it'll be a monster both in-state and out of state.

I'm seriously starting to believe he is. Nobody can possibly be that stupid and still manage to string an actual sentence together. Well, I guess it's possible if he's, like, 12 or 13...but wasn't he starting college when he was posting here a few years ago?BuckeyeNation27;2137169; said:he HAS to be trolling them. there's just no other explanation.
Mmmmmmm, koolaid...I have big reservations with this staff and recruiting. We have heard they are good recruiters but we don't exactly have 4* studs beating down the door to verbal. We are all Illinois fans but lets be honest. These guys have an up the hill battle to sell the program. Even after a 14-12 recond and 2 bowl wins over the past two seasons, which is respectable.....we still are waiting for that first stud. IMO it needs to happen sooner rather than later. We need one guy to get started. Maybe someone like Bailey can be that pied piper that we need
Now, pardon my potential ignorance, but what "track record" does Tim Beckman have, exactly? Speaking of track records...I think thakid is batting right around .056 on his predictions the past 4-5 years, so...I don't have doubts at all. All you have to do is look at the track record of these guys, specifically Beckman, Beatty and Gonzales. I know the studs will come. Let's not forget it's still very early. All they need is that first major domino and I think it's coming soon whether it's Pocic, Bailey, Augusta, or someone like that. It's coming though. I know it is.
Also a 10.57 100 and 6.55 55 meter dash. I didn't know he had that much speed but definitely a good pickup. I expect them to add another very good RB or two and bring in a great class overall. Recruiting is really heating up for the Illini.
I wouldn't be surprised with 9 or 10 wins.
Very solid career = not registering a single statistic in 3 seasons.Hawthorne has put together a very solid college career but people haven't given him his due. He's going to emerge as a true elite national player this year IMO. He's going to help the Illini win in a big way this year IMO. 10+ wins.

He was decent as a frosh in 2009, limited to 8 games as a SO in 2010, had 60 tackles & 3 INT last year...so I'll cut kid some slack there...I'd give him "decent"..."very solid" might be a stretch with only 5 INT over 3 years mostly as a starter.
