[censored] it, slow night at work. Lets see how this "pro factory" has faired in the nfl:
2011
DT- Corey Liuget (1st Rd): 19 tackles, 1 sack (backup)
RB- Michael LeShoure (2nd Rd): Blew out his knee preseason
LB- Martez Wilson (3rd Rd): 10 Tackles, 1 sack (backup)
LB- Nate Bussey (7th Rd): Practice squad player, didn't register any statistics
2010
Wr- Arrelious Benn (2nd Rd): 55 Catches, 5 td as part time starter / #3 receiver in 2 seasons
OG- Jon Asamoah (3rd Rd): Starting OG in KC
TE- Mike Hoomanawanui (5th rd): Part time starting TE in STL
DT- Josh Brent (7th Rd): Backup DT, marginal player
2009
CB- Vontae Davis (1st Rd): Solid, not spectacular starting CB
OT- Xavier Fulton (5th Rd): Out of the league
DE- Will Davis (6th Rd): Backup DE in ARZ, marginal player
2008
RB- Rashard Mendenhall (1st Rd): 2 thousand yard seasons for PIT, zero ProBowls, blew out knee at the end of 2011.
So, since dum-dum predicted illinois was on the verge of becoming "very Miami-esque" in terms of churning out pro players, they have had 12 guys drafted in 4 years:
1st Round: 3
2nd Round: 2
3rd Round: 2
5th Round: 2
6th Round: 1
7th Round: 2
Three are currently starters in the league (Mendenhall, V. Davis, Asamoah), Two are part time starters (Benn, Homawhatever), several are backups (Liuget, Wilson, Brent, W. Davis), one got injured in camp as a rookie (LeShoure), the rest are marginal/out of the league types. ZERO have been named to the ProBowl. This year, their best prospect, is Whitney Mercellus projects as possibly a mid-first rounder, and A.J. Jenkins as a 4th-5th rounder.
Some "pro-factory".
Hardly what I'd call Miami-esque. But they'll get better. Watch, you'll see.
