If the team gets a TD on the opening drive, and a TD in the final 20 seconds, I think getting the ball first wasn’t a bad thing.

A few random observations. Thin line between success and failure is pretty thin. This might look pretty different if Sayin doesn’t escape that one sack and scramble for the first down. But since he did, this little bit of running he now seems willing to do should be huge for the team going forward. Love that they’re using the middle of the field in the passing game and running out of wider formations. Also critical to future success IMO. I don’t like Nate Roberts much as a blocker, but he’s looked very smooth catching the ball and that’s a nice security blanket to have. I just have to laugh at punt returns: Even when the decision making is good, they can’t catch a break and get a good result.

I like getting the ball to be honest. Every team takes the ball in the second half. If you elect to take the ball you can likely plan how the beginning of the game will go because you’ll know you’ll get the ball.

Plus my thinking is, the worst thing (typically, minus a pick 6 vs Iowa) that can happen is a punt. Whereas the worst thing on defense is the other team scores.

For sure understand getting the ball in the second half though.
