Huge. He just visited UGA a couple weeks ago. Had talked about possibly going back down there again this weekend since they face his other finalist TX. The fact that he’s instead choosing to come back here again (visited for the TX game) is a great sign.

Rivals Midwest insider Greg Smith believe Ohio State leads for Brock Williams.
Brock’s dad said they will be at Ohio State this weekend and Texas next weekend, they visited Georgia last weekend. Said it’s important for them to have one more meeting with coaches at his top schools before he makes his final decision in December.

This came together quickly, could be our biggest TE commit since Ruckert. But you see how we use Klare now and that has to excite a pass catching TE.

Too soon old, too late smart
Add to the fact that most of the current crop of TEs in the Buckeye stable will run out of eligibility in next two years (w or w/o xfers), plus the line-up of 5* qbs in the pipeline has gotta give any recruit reason to look the Buckeye's way. Seems like 'in the pros' the TEs are third or fourth options (no scientific reasoning here), and that picking up the outside blitzer is more important. Adding some beef to the extra-long pass catcher, and teaching them how to block etc is something where the Buckeyes excel. Certainly don't mean to say that other teams do not do this also, but maybe it's my scarlet colored glasses that suggest such.

Unpopular opinion, but with OSU going towards the IU model of older players. I don't really have that much interest in Williams anymore. He's going to need a RS year to get some serious size, and then we have to pray he will stay and not be tampered with. OSU just brought in 2 TEs in the portal both 6'5, but their weight is 250 and 260. Williams is 210, and might hit campus in the 220s. The new system could see guys like this get weeded out. Unless Williams is willing to stay at OSU and not really see the field until year 2 or 3. Roberts and Lennon were at least bigger in HS

Just get a 5th year transfer at TE until some type of rules are set. Kid will already have the size, knows the speed of the game and will come in ready to go from day 1
