If you were head coach at Ohio State.....

Head Coach Saw31

BKB--Offensive Coordinator. Genius, need I say more. Expect 30 points a game.
Me--Defensive Coordinator. Called all defensive plays on EA. Never hit the reset button.
Smithlabs--Academic Coordinater/tOSU's Big Ten Rules Committee Representative. Indepth knowledge of both physics and the intricacies of the college football rulebook.
DiHard--Public Relations, he will handle the media.
Mili--Post Count Coordinator. I know my count is low, but tOSU hired me because I knew Bo Jackson was the greatest virtual Football Player of all time. Mili will take care of my post count deficiencies.
Tibor--Team Doctor/Trainer. Hope nobody gets hurt.
exhawg--Strength/Conditioning. His name is exhawg, what more can I say.
ComputerBuck--Recruiting Coordinater. Comes highly recommended from 3yards. :nerd:
FKAGoBucks877--Douche-Nozzle/Thinking out of the Box Coordinator. Will also assist DiHard with the media.
BuckNutty--TBDBITL's Cadence Coordinator.
Clarity--Drum Major. He bends over backwards to make this a great place to waste my vLife.
NYB--Serious Answer Coordinator. I don't have the time to research a serious answer to your question so I took the low road. Sorry.

I am begining to think that the defensive performance isnt a coaching issue. I caught a comment that Mussberger made quoting Snyder..... Mark said they are missing a real force/threat at DE like Will Smith was last year.

There is no question we're not getting enough production from our defensive ends. Simon Fraser hasn't played as well as I thought he would this year. Jay Richardson has been hurt the last couple weeks but I thought he'd be more productive to this point. Kudla has played pretty well the last couple weeks but he won't make anyone forget about Will Smith. Getting pressure on the quarterback has been a problem. If you can't do it with your front four

I think many of us, including me thought the young pups would step in and there wouldnt be a big drop off.... well Replacing Smith, Anderson and Scott proved to be a lot bigger challenge than we thought...
I really like what I see out of Pitcock.... Green when healthy is a problem. We simply dont have stud play makers at either DE.... Simon is ok... but he isnt a dominating, take over a game type DE.....

I think most people, or at least most people should have, expected a little bit of a drop off but I don't think anyone expected the dropoff to be as big as it has been. We need an infusion of talent on the outside and with guys like Ryan Williams, Doug Worthington and possibly Lawrence Wilson on the way we should see improvement at the position, not to mention Gholston and Alex Barrow.

I think Green is solid if not spectactular. I'm still waiting for David Patterson to fulfill the promise he had when he was recruited out of high school. Maupin and Cotton should solidify the interior line down the road.

I agree the defense should be improved next year but I think they should be better this year. I think we need to attack more. I'm tired of seeing Snyder call soft zones on third and long. There have been a lot of missed assignments and confusion in the secondary. Snyder really hasn't made good adjustments all year. Tackling has also been atrocious. The defense has looked better the last couple weeks because Penn State and Indiana were in town.

I should have been more clear in my initial post though...I'm willing to give Snyder a chance and I hope his best days are in front of him but I was speaking in the hypothetical about what my coaching staff would look like. Would you really want Snyder over Dantonio, given the choice?

Recruiting Coordinator - Ron Zook
DL - Heacock

DB - Tucker
I would take that staff...that might be the best offer Zook gets for a few years anyways. My only change would possibly be Pagac at DC rather than Dantonio. Both were great, but I loved Pagac's schemes...

Pagac was the first one I thought of as well. Very aggressive, which I like on defense, even if it gets you burnt every now and then.

As in Walt Harris from the redskins? Forgive my limited knowledge of names
No not that one, the current head coach at Pitt

Harris was the quarterbacks coach at Ohio State (1995-96), where he was instrumental in the development of Bobby Hoying, who threw for a school-record 3,269 yards and 29 touchdowns during the ’95 season.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

In 1996, Harris was the guiding force behind one of the nation’s most prolific offenses that averaged over 450 yards per game. Moreover, it was Harris who orchestrated the Buckeyes’ last-minute scoring drive that resulted in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Ohio State’s dramatic 20-17 Rose Bowl victory over <ST1:pArizona State.
