If you had a full day in Columbus, what would you eat?

I'll always hold a warm place in my heart for Tapa Tio's

Owned by a friend of the family. Great chef and even greater person.
After a funeral they say there is nothing like food to help fill that empty space ...
When the wife's ma passed on we all were at odds and evens after the graveside service and before the evening wake. The owner of TTs opened up for over 12 of us and started bringng out one dish after another, each different, all made by his own hand. Plus obligatory margaritas or ales to suit the food.

We were still there when the evening dinner crowd was just swanning in.

Over our multiple protests the owner refused any payment for any part of the bill.

We tipped him and the staff very heavy, but I doubt that came close to the tab ... and I think that's the way he wanted it.

I heard yesterday that the owner is now in ill health. Only the good die young.

Pittsburgh doesn't really have any kind of place like that...or if they do, they are still populated by the Stiller hat wearing morons.

I'm told that there are very upscale restraunts at the top of the incline in Shitsburgh. I couldn't say for certain since I avoid that shithole like the plague.

4 PM: Original Max & Erma's, 6oz. bourbon burger.

7 PM: Elevator Brewing Co., rock tuna and a couple of pints of IPA.

Yes, very expensive though. More of a "date" place...I certainly woudln't go there with a bunch of guys. Mostly I go there when one of the pharmaceutical reps is picking up the tab. :slappy:

Wow, lack of love for the Banyard Buster! I have to go with this for the late night option, although Panini's and a Burrito as big as my head are also great options. Nancy's for breakfast and Thurman's for lunch. No real given for dinner, although after those meals I'm not sure I'd have room.

Don't forget that late night at TJ's is great for pure entertainment. A great combination of drunk rednecks and club freaks...depending on the location.

I am suprised that JR Migs has yet to get any mention. Best Burgers around. I would definately have to hit the Baryard Buster for a sober up meal, after spending that much drinking you need something cheap to soak it all up. I would also have to start at Bernie's for the 7 am happy hour for breakfast of course.

I heard LaBamba was closed. "Buritos as big as your head" - Great place..
I thought La Bamba's was a Columbus only restaurant but I saw some in Illinois a few weeks ago, their billborad said "Burritos as Big as your Head." I was disappointed b/c I thought Columbus had the only one.

There are LaBamba's in almost all of the Big 10 towns. I have been to the one in Champaign, and Bloomington, and they are the same.

I forgot about Starliner for breakfast, that place is awesome for any meal. The Cream of Jalapeno and cheddar soup is amazing.
