If You Ever Want Pizza in Boston

Don't order from this place. Here's some of the reviews.

Regal Cafe Pizzeria

34 State St
Boston, MA 02124
Neighborhood: Financial District

Who ever knew a New Yorker can be scammed, in in Boston of all places!!!
Came to my hotel at 11PM, and was starving, was told by my hotel that this place delivers 24 hours, and gave me their phone number.

The horror begins after I dial this place up:

The guy in a terrible annoying accent says I can't order anything but a Large Pie, and have to order another Item (In my case wings)
Stupidly i said okay.

I asked for the price and he was not able to put the prices together
Delivered my pizza 1 hour later, with no wings and a charge of 52 dollars!!!

Pizza was the worst i ever had, and was cold, and oddly shaped

Called them back and they basically kept promising to deliver the wings
3AM still no wings, i call back to complain and to tell them pizza is cold, guy on the phone says: "F@*! YOU" and hangs up on me.

After being mad I Checked the place on yelp and saw the rest of these reviews and sadly had the same experience

Contacted Attorney General to report them on Monday.

Places like this made me rethink not checking yelp before i order, seriously

Wish I can give this place a 0

Please, DO NOT order from here. The food is gross and they will charge you a crazy amount of money.

My friends tried to order a large pizza, were told over the phone the total, two and a half hours later, the delivery driver showed up with more than $100 worth of food, refused to give them a receipt and threatened them when they would not sign the check.

Luckily, their bank called them the next morning. I guess this place has such a sketchy rep, that they (chase) knew to dispute the charges. So, at least they wont have to pay.

DO NOT ORDER FAROM HERE!

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

They won't tell you the price of the order, and then ask because it's so late (we ordered at 2am) that they need a card on file.

We ordered a Lg pizza with french fries and chinken fingers and it came to 60 bucks! We were dumb enough to still pay it, but then I just looked at my bank statement I have a 60 dollar charge pending from there on my account!!!

Do NOT order from here.

This place doesn't even deserve stars. If I could give them negative stars I would.

What everyone has said is true. These guys are straight up CROOKS! They are rude, crooked, and shouldn't even be in business.

Figures the one time I don't use yelp I get myself into a fishy situation.

My girlfriend and I wanted to get delivery after we got back from the 2011 Resolution Ball at the Seaport World Trade Center on NYE. (Great Event BTW) So my girlfriend goes on her Iphone runs a search for pizza joints in the area. Up popped a 24 hour pizza delivery place. We though perfect!
So at 2:45 AM we called up figuring we would just get supreme pizza and mozzarella sticks... He tells us that he doesn't have that just the Margherita pizza... We said okay fine we were hungry that would suffice. So he said that because its New Years he will toss in a Greek salad, two slices of cake, and 6 sodas. I actually thanked him I thought he was doing something out of the kindness of his heart. He told me it would be $24.99 and asked for a credit card number. He said it would be delivered within 45 min to an hour and his last words were don't fall asleep...

Then we woke up.
It was 4:50 We got four missed calls from the non English speaking delivery guy close to two hours later from 4:37 - 4:44 AM. That is when my mind began to wonder if he was expecting us to pass out so they could still collect their money.

So my gf and I called them back immediately in hopes of getting the pizza we had paid for.

We got our pizza alright... by this time it was a little after 6 AM and the delivery guys tells me I owe $55. I was in complete shock. $55 for cold mozzarella sticks, pizza, and all this other junk I didn't ask for?!

I demanded to speak with his boss, who ended up being the same guy taking the orders. He explained why it was so much but it didn't make any sense besides the fact I know the pizza guy needs to get paid too. I told him I wasn't paying him that amount but would be happy to tip the guy. He said negotiated and said okay $45. At this point I was fed up and was going to give the owner an earful when I got back to the room.

The "Margherita pizza" was just some fancy word for his shitty excuse for a cheese pizza. It was cold the mozzarella stick were rock hard and the fries that came with it were soggy. The "Greek Salad" was a head of lettuce chopped up and thrown in s Styrofoam container with a pack of Cesar salad dressing. The two pieces of cake were cheese cake chocolate which may have been passed as a recent bowel movement. As for the soda, well you cant really mess up on soda. My girlfriend and I don't drink it anyway.

We called to complain and tried to have the owner justify the charges. He explained that everything was listed on the website that we never even knew existed in the first place. So we ended up getting into an argument with the guy, and he had the audacity to swear at us and hang up if we we rent pissed to begin with.

We thought about going to the location the next day to complain but no one answered the phones anyway. W figured the credit card wouldn't be charged since we paid in cash. But sure thing a few days later we saw Regal Pizzeria listed and a charge for $49.99.

So basically we spent $100 on the worst mozzarella sticks and pizza we've ever had.

I have since checked their website and seen all of the wonderful reviews about this place. Sad that this has happened to so many people.

We have tried to call numerous times after these events to get our money back as it states on their website but they have failed to answer. I thought they may have took all the money and ran.

I was able to get in touch with the same scum I spoke with. I told him how completely unsatisfied I was and not impressed by his rude nature. I explained that we were still charged despite the fact we paid in cash. He took my name and number and said that he would have the "boss" contact me to reimburse me.

I can certainly see why their website claims their delivery guys have been assaulted. It isn't their fault but they are working for a corrupt business and probably taking the cash that is asked for upon delivery.

Thanks to all of the Yelp reviews we showed the bank and they reimbursed us for some of our losses.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. My brother was working a late shift on Christmas, and Regal was the only place delivering, so he ordered some delivery. The guy on the phone took his credit card info and told him he'd call back with the total. When he never did, my brother called him back only to be told his card had been charged and the driver was on his way . . . and "give him a good tip, it's Christmas." Well, when my bro finally got the total, it was . . . get this . . . $60! For a pizza, sub and jalapeno poppers!

So my brother refused to accept the food, never signed the receipt, and had to tell the bank he had a fraudulent charge on his card. Sure, he shouldn't have given his credit card number without the total, but this is SO CLEARLY a scam, so I really can't fault him.

And we plan to follow up with Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General, so please just STEER CLEAR.

Really, what can you possibly expect when you order from a 24 hour pizza joint in downtown Boston? Well, other than decent pizza and so-so customer service. I can understand them wanting a card when someone orders pizza at 2 or 3 am, but no way, under any circumstance, will I give them my card before I get a total.
