...Nastiest D in the country in '08. We don't exactly have the best track record with stud juniors sticking around (exceptions of course), but if these three decided to stay, could you imagine how loaded our D would be? Of course our safeties have to step up (which I think they will) and our interior d-line has to prove to be more than sufficient...but still, I just thought about this this morning and said to myself, wow.

I realize the odds of all 3 sticking around is slim but for the sake of optimism, let's hope it comes true. :biggrin:
 
Jenkins and Gholston both reportedly plan to make the jump.

I think the biggest retention, while unlikely, would be Boone. Two brand new tackles, possibly a true frosh at LT... against USC, yikes.

Didn't Gholston ask for a redshirt his 2nd year? Doesn't that mean he is going to stay for his senior year? I mean, why would he want to take a redshirt if he thought he was going to leave after his junior year?

I believe Gholston was sick/injured that year. At that point, it was far from a certainty that he could make the jump early with positive results.

Vern was injured IIRC. He could still very likely bolt if his stock is high enough...which, it should very well be. Long season though, we'll see.

no way Boone a 1st rounder. He's not even the best o-liner on the team, BARTON BY FAR. I major thing about him going early is the improvement of the young ones and those great freshman coming in. This is by far, a great group of all the players on the 0-line
