I was there...memories of The Game 2006

Indica

Something
I think it would be nice to have one thread serve as a collage of sorts to commemorate this epic day. It can be a mixture of pictures, video, audio ... anything.

Before time slips away, it would be great if you guys who were at The Game could share one memory that sticks out in your mind. Something you saw, how it felt, just something that sticks out in your mind so that we can keep this forever in BP.

:osu:

Edit: Indica has started a new thread at the same time, so I have merged these threads. I hope we get lots of contributions.

The thing that sticks out in my mind is at gameday where I witnessed a guy playing "Hang on Sloopy" on his accordian while a guy in a chicken suit danced next to him and everyone around sang along. Kinda sums up what Columbus was like all day yesterday in a nut shell. :osu:

Also screaming my ass off along with the rest of the stadium on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th down when Michigan had the ball. I've never been at a game, not even Texas last year, when the crowd got that loud for every single offensive snap of the other team.

After going down on the field and getting a piece of sod, I walked out of the stadium right by the Michigan team bus. Seeing the faces on some of their players was absolutely priceless.

University to sod field for The Game 100,000
price for my ticket $450.00
Beating Michigan Priceless

I no doubt loved and enjoyed the game, but how about the band? Those of you who watched the game on TV missed out on a great show.

(They were playing songs from movies, and I think the coolest thing they did was have the band make the Titanic, then have it sink into the ocean (big blue tarps).)

I think my favorite moment of the night was when Troy took the field. I will never forget that part of the night.

I have so many memories from yesterday, things that I will not ever forget.

Of course, it all started Thursday with the insanity of jumping in Mirror Lake.

Saturday was just insane, me and my seating group all huddled outside of the stadium and I basically told them to give it their all (and they did). That was just the beginning of the craziness.

Once inside -- an hour before kick-off -- The Horseshoe was nearly FULL. I couldn't believe it. Several O-H-I-O chants went around the stadium. Literally, you could feel the energy just swirling around in the air. Amazing feeling.

The applause for the seniors, especially Troy, were great.

The first thing that sticks out the most from The Game was Beanie's TD run. The 'Shoe went INSANE. Everyone in my section was going wild, high fiving, running up and down the steps. This happened on every TD after that.

However, the final TD pass to Robiskie (the game winner) was probably my favorite play. It was Troy Smith's last pass ever in Ohio Stadium. You couldn't have scripted it any better. It still gives me chills.

Anyways, that's just a few things. I'll post some pictures later when I load them on an image hosting site.

I will always remember getting a full-force stadium ohio going an hour and a half before kickoff, and the unity and intensity of the "LETS GO BUCKS" chant while their band was performing in pregame.

That's fucking amazing.

based on the light shone on c-deck, God may also be mandating something for oklahoma... or a can of soup.

by the way, i was pretty much right in the middle of the large shadow in c-deck. awesome seats! great view!
