Hawg... you never answered me.

Are you sure you can fit through the front door? Hopefully there's a sliding glass one in the back

Luckily it's a newer house so I fit fine through all of the doorways. The basement is even extra tall so I fit down there. I've been on a diet of late to try to get in better shape for bball so that is helping with the sides of the doors.

does it have a deck?? you have to give us all the details. Looks like it's a nice house to have a huge deck on the back.

congrats

Nice place. I am not sure where that house is, but in most markets, that looks like a pretty good deal. I from the Zanesville area and the market is through the roof. In the C-bus area the market is even more outragous.

And Hawg, your Dad is almost right, it cuts a 30 year mortgage down to 22-23 years. You can manage this by making half of your payment every 2 weeks, or just pay 1 full extra payment when you have it---income tax returns are common--either way, it is 13 payments.

congrats!

Is there a bar?

I love owning my own place.

Mowing your yard while drinking a few cold ones.

Fucking around in the garage.

Burning leaves.

"Ahhhhh, Ahhhhhh."

Yep - best way to do this is to set up your auto-payment schedule with your regular bank, enforce that financial discipline.
Trim more months / years by taking at least half of any bonus you get and dropping that against the principal. And get (maybe) another few years trimmed by taking your IRS pay-back or refund and doing the same each year.
Owning within 15 years or less with a 30-yr note can be done and is a really good goal to shoot for.

And - hawg, that is a nice looking first house, got some grounds, 2-car garage and (I'm guessing) 3-BR+ plus the trimmings. Congratulations - nice way to begin your holiday season.

He doesn't live in a van down by the river? Maybe that is what he is aspiring to.

Congrats dude, my brother just told me yesterday that he sold his house in Stow to a fat guy, and when I saw this thread I thought it may be you:wink2: . But when I saw the pic, its not the same house. Oh well, enjoy your new home.
