I don't appreciate the racist comments in my reputation grading

I have been on the phone all night with a textile manufacturer in China. I am so tired I didn't realize that Louis' first line of his message was in fact the message he received. I thought that was his response to the "detractor".

Pretty direct, obviously steryotipical. Racist? may be.

I don't understand why the critic opted to remain anonymous. But, like other posters have indicated, Louis' style is a bit caustic, so he should expect to receive blunt comments in return.

Life can be brutal on a public board.

Well, perhaps you should have used a different name when you joined.

No one is really dumb enough to use their own name as their screen name, are they ? Hell, you may be an Asian, or Indian for all we know. Why leave yourself open to fodder by using your name or that name?

No one here ,IMO, cares what anyone else looks like, as long as their favorite colors are Scarlett and Gray.

If you want, I can help with a new screen name.

Just for the record, it wasn't me. I don't think that I've had any difficulties with sharing my feelings in a public forum.

FWIW- I'm mostly Irish and German. I have essentially been genetically engineered to consume large quantities of liquids derived from barley and hops.

OK, so nobody gets the wrong idea/feelings hurt:

1) Louis, I don't like you, and I'll say it straight out. But I do like watching/participating in the constant intellectual beatdowns laid upon you. I've never seen such a uniter... you definitely should run for political office.

2) My moniker is not an attempt at racism, it is homage to my alma mater. Although I am a Cleveland Indians fan.

3) I don't like Taco Bell, even though it's open late.

4) I'm Irish and Italian, and I really don't take offense to any jokes about my heritage. In fact many of them are quite funny.

FWIW I know plenty of honkeys work at Taco Bell

Here in Hawaii, if you ain't a Flip you ain't workin' at Taco Bell, and that's no shit. I've been here just short of 8 years now since my return to the islands, and I 've seen two blacks and one white--total--working at a TB during that time...everyone else from the manager down to the tray collector/mop pusher is a frickin' Buk-Buk.

Who you are isn't lost on anyone in a position to do something about it on this board. How you carry yourself on other boards isn't lost on us either.

Feel free to enjoy this community, but don't make the mistake of thinking that you'll be allowed to simply entertain yourself by disrupting it.

Anyone can turn off reputation in UserCP. People can continue to leave it for you, but if you're sensitive to anonymous comments, you don't have to see any of them if it's turned off, nor will your current reputation value be displayed in your postbit. Instead, you will have a single black dot indicating that you opted out of what is an entirely optional feature of the board.

I'd like to remind everyone here and now that there's an 'Ignore' feature on this board. I'd much rather see you use that, than hear about remarks in the reputation system that are completely out of line.

I know you were specifically invited over to this board on another. Or perhaps I should say that I know you were specifically challenged to come over to this board and try some of the same antics you were up to elsewhere. Again, I invite you to enjoy the community. And again, I'll remind you that you're not going to be allowed to simply disrupt it. I'm not saying that's your intention, and my message goes out to everyone, not just you.

I don't know if you're a Bowling Green fan (based on your IP), or an OSU fan, and frankly it doesn't matter. You're welcome to speak your mind, even if what you have to say is something the majority disagrees with. But don't think we are entirely without limits, nor the tools to correct problems here.

To anyone who might be abusing the reputation system, please don't put me in a position where I have to start looking into who is saying what. I want no part of that. Everyone is an adult here, on the flip side of that, if you expect to survive on a college football forum, you better have a thick skin.

I will also echo the thick skin comments. If you wish to be part of a fan site like this where there are no set limits, you must be ready for things said that MAY hurt feelings. We try to leave it up to everyone to control themselves here and for the most part it works. I personally would not take anything personal here. If someone does not like you for whatever reason, simply ignore them and move on. If they continue to harass you then simply add them to your ignore list and you will no longer be able to read anything they post. Easy and simple.

Disagreement shouldn't lead to derogatory racist comments

I guess it's allowed and thought of even as funny because I see it elsewhere on the board. That's just not right. I'm pretty disappointed in the responses about this to be honest.

If you have a problem with what a user is saying anywhere on the board, then address it directly with that user. What we won't have here is an atmosphere where people can whine to the admins, who will then step in and crack down based upon the whining.

You're a big boy, stand up and address anything you wish to address. If you don't like hearing from specific people, put them on ignore. If you don't want to read reputation comments, then don't, and/or disable reputation completely.

I'm not going to play the same game with you that others have on other boards. Again, you're welcome to enjoy this community. I don't care what your views are, you're welcome to discuss them here if you so desire. There's a place for just about everything, except for ongoing attempts to cause problems and discontent.

Do you really think that's funny or proper Clarity ? Do you think Miliani's racially tinged comments towards Tibor are funny ? It's not about me growing a thicker skin but about whomever is posting that shit to grow some brain cells or at the very least, to have the balls to identify who they are.

I don't know how in the world this could be construed as ME causing a problem either.
