I Am Legend (official movie thread)

Captain Hindsight

The Hero of the Modern Age
So I saw I Am Legend today in theaters, and needless to say, the only thing that I was disappointed with was that there was not as much action as I had hoped there would be. However, it was such a good movie. Will Smith does a fucking sensational job as Robert Neville, and it's almost a story of survival, redemption, trust, and reliance on oneself. It's an extremely emotional movie and I would recommend anyone to see it.

Somewhat. You see an example of it, but you don't grasp the name I Am Legend like you do in the book.

Grrrr....

I will still see it and most likely enjoy it (I love just about anything post-apoc) but it is frustrating when they stray too far from the source for me.

If you are going to do that why use the damn title?

(Is not a fan of I Robot for that very reason)

...but I will still be happy to weigh it on it's own merits (besides between the book, the original movie and Omega Man the story has been re-interpreted quite a bit already).

The main difference I saw, with out going into spoilers, is that they don't answer a lot in the movie, and acted as if they were going to elaborate on something, and didn't. Still a good movie though, but a lot of people who have read the book didn't care for it. I still say def. worth seeing.

It was a good ending, but it was kind of abrupt. It could have been stretched out some like him taking the mother and child to Vermont. They even had a whole other subplot with the zombie that showed intelligence in trapping him, but never addressed it. I thought and kept me entertained. I love apocalyptic end of world type stuff though.
