Hypothetical: Who should get the Big East's automatic BCS bid?

I always hear people bitch about conference this and conference that. There is no way anyone knows exactly how good a conference is. The only possible way to judge is non conference games and thats a bullshit way of telling. If West Virginia played USC and pulled one out of their ass does that mean the big east is better then the pac? You can say it would never happen but we all just act like the Stanford game didnt happen I don't. You can't judge non conference games just as well as you can't judge conferences.

There is no doubt the big east is down in the dumps. I, in no way, can defend that. If pitt was undefeated and the rest of the conference was horrible, noone would be complaining. If you can sit there and honestly tell me how good each conference is compared to another, you are a better man then I.

Teams play within the conference. Therefore, you can only tell how good a team is in that specific conference. It's impossible to determine who would win the big ten if a few more teams joined it as well as other conferences.

Everyone complains about the BCS, which I do as well. Then that should be a dead giveaway that just because the BCS says this is the top ten teams, doesnt mean that's the top ten teams.

If they would just go to the 16-team playoff like they do in the other three divisions (I-AA, II, and III), with no conference tie-ins, then there would be little question of who deserves to be the national champion when the title game is played. Take the top16 in the BCS standings, and bracket them. For those who say that any team outside of the top eight doesn't deserve a shot at the title via the playoffs, check out how well teams like Boise State (#9), Louisville (#10), LSU (#11), and Tennessee (#15) have played this year. Should any of these teams run the playoffs (beating four teams in a row ranked #8 or better), no one could say they weren't deserving national champions.

Change the post-season system, and eventually you are going to change the fact that every game in college football is like a playoff game.

Kind of a weird playoff system when you can win every game and still not go to the championship game.
