my hometown back in Louisiana got pummeled last night by what was left or Arthur.
from the videos I've seen, was a wild night

heavy rains, tornadoes, etc.

good lord! parts of Avoyelles Parish have gotten over 24" of rain in the last 24 hours and that cell is still sitting onto of them.
Meteorlogists are predicting could be as much as 36" before it moves away.

oh it’s flooding there too.
areas that have never flooded before are inundated.

i’m not familiar with that part of the state, but know it’s right around where 3 major rivers intersect.
all 3 are likely high as fuck already before this rainfall.

for a little clarity.
it’s actually only 2 rivers, but historically and by name, it’s 3.

The Red River met up with the Mississippi and the Archafalaya left the Mississippi very close to each other at one point.

sometime in history the Red and Atchafalaya met and now don’t actually meet the Mississippi. But there is a man made structure that still connects them all.

it just looks like the Red takes a sharp turn southward and heads to the Gulf.

62 at 8:00 AM here but it’s supposed to peak at 96 at 6:00 PM. Odd as our temperature usually peaks a couple of hours earlier than that.
