I'll let you know when it goes through the Bahamas, since I am only 95 miles west of Freeport. As of now, I think we will only see the very edge of the storm, so it probably won't do much near you if it stays on its current track.

Tennessee fires are a nightmare. So many people taken completely by surprise, having only minutes to evacuate. Many drove with flames on both sides of the road to escape. Rain can't start there a moment too soon.

One poor man they interviewed on The Weather Channel had driven down to the bottom of the hill with his son to see if the fire was close enough to need to leave. His wife and two daughters had stayed in their house. By the time he got down the road, the cops were there re-directing traffic. His wife phoned him and said she could see the flames. It took him an hour to drive back to his house, and when he got there everything was engulfed. He still hadn't found his wife and daughter as of 9:30PM tonight. The really disturbing thing where his story is concerned is that it's also being reported that there are three unidentified dead in the fires. Can't imagine the kind of second-guessing he'd live with as to why he didn't take everyone with him.
