Storms in the Cincy area hit close to lots of freinds and family. Town of Moscow Ohio has about 80% of the town that was damaged in some way by the storms. One guy I went to high school with had bought a 200 year old historic house that was part of the underground railroad, and it is damaged really bad. My uncle sold his house in Bethel about a year ago and moved a mile down the road. The house he sold had most of the roof ripped off. Crazy storm for such an earll part of the season.

And this is why it makes me crazy when people (FB notably) post smiley, glowing remarks about how happy they are for the mild, snowless winter. My personal love of big dramatic snowstorms aside, this weather pattern is abnormal. And the more radically the weather deviates from normal, the greater the bill coming due later on is going to be. Having Spring weather all Winter is not something to celebrate. We should have been having a nice snowstorm for the end of February/beginning of March. Instead, we've probably set a new record for destructive twisters for the date, with a death toll for this week approaching 50 now. Never mind the fact that this is March 3, and with more than two weeks still remaining of official winter, we haven't even started what is supposed to be prime tornado season.

I'll take my chances with ten below and a blizzard warning any day.

Had heavy rains through the first half of the week with some small flash floods, a major lightning storm (rare for Oahu), and actually some hail Tuesday. Had a slight reprieve yesterday, but the rains started again last night and we had a waterspout hit land in a neighborhood called Lanikai on the windward side of the island. With exception of seeing a couple small patches of blue sky for about a half hour yesterday, we haven't seen the sun since Sunday.

Pretty awesome in AZ right now. 73 is the high and 48 is the low with a little breeze. Not looking forward to June-September.
Back when I was a couch potato I hated summer too but now I love summer. If it doesn't hit at least 110 I'm pissed off. I spend most of my time outdoors and around water.
