October starts our transition from the mean season to the best season.
October 1st was over 90 degrees and humid. The next couple of weeks were still upper 80's and humid.

Now it is in the 70's with lows in the upper 40's low 50's. It is still humid but not as much and not as unbearble. My youngest daughter wears a sweatshirt to school now. I still cling to shorts and t-shirts casually.

October is normally our driest month but we have had a lot of rain which is good as our normal rainfall is off by 20+ inches.

Yesterday I mowed the yard for the first time in a month and will probably hit it once more in a month to trim weeds and mulch leaves.

Worked on the pool today and damn the water was cold. If it gets down in the 40's at night the water isn't much warmer.

We do not get the fall colors Ohio does but I hope to catch at least some colors as I travel throughout the country the next few weeks.
