Yet replacing nine defensive starters (including multiple 1st round and 1st day picks) last year was so much easier to handle?

One thing JT does well is get a lot of playing time down the depth chart. The offense will change in emphasis, in that I have no doubt. Suffer? Not as much.

Give me a break man. 10-3 is a good record.

Wisconsin, Michigan, and Penn State.
While it is possible we could lose any one of those games, I highly highly doubt we lose all three. This is like you have a chance you have a chance to lose to LSU, Georgia, and Auburn, but I doubt you will lose to all three.

Well, you see I think you guys will finish 10-3. But when I say that, you get all pissed off. So it's pretty hard to win around here.
Untwist those panties man, the whole thing started with you predicting any of three finishes. Which kind of goes against the idea of a prediction thread - as in pick one. We are simply riding you a little because of that start as much as anything else.

Had you come straight out and said 10-3 - and then stuck with it - I think the thread would have taken a very different turn.

Whatever, you will go 13-0. Whatever makes you happy is most important I clearly see.:oh::io:

Obviously not... if you looked at the poll, you'd see not even 10% of us think we'll go undefeated. And we're the ones with scarlet shades on.
You're taking flak for not having a point... and already irritating some people.

I don't know what you will do next year. When I voted, I clicked 10-3.

I'd be satisfied with an 11-2 season. I'm a little worried about the front seven. In particular I'm worried about the linebackers being exposed a bit without Pitcock and Patterson eating up blockers. And the finish to last season didn't inspire a lot of confidence. But they will be experienced. That has to help.

When I look at the offense, I can't help but see Penn State last season. They had a good running back, a highly-touted QB without much game experience, and a group of (supposedly) talented young receivers, and it didn't amount to much. Obviously, a lot of things would have to go wrong for the offense to end up that bad, but it's a possibility.

But given the caliber of player OSU brings in, the quality of the coaches, and the schedule (which isn't easy, but isn't that bad), I find myself cautiously optimistic. I try to temper my expectations, but if a few breaks go the Buckeyes' way (QB plays well, defense is as good as we've come to expect, Henne and Morelli don't turn into the lost Manning brothers), a return to a BCS game isn't out of the question. But for now, 11-2 is okay with me.

Woo! First non-GatorsAreGood-related post on page six!
EDIT: Crap, scratch that. I'm on page seven.

I wouldnt really be too concerned about the D...even if the front 4 are a little weak with out Pitcock and Patterson (which i doubt they will be, i see Gholston as an all big ten DE next year, maybe even better) we should have one of the best linebacking crops in the nation next year, not quite as good as A.J., Bob, and Anthony, but these guys can still hold their own even if they dont get much help upfront

I think our defense should be up to 2005-type standards. Maybe not quite that good, but I think they'll be stalwort.
I don't really agree to the comparison for PSU. They lost nearly their entire secondary, which while very good wasn't phenomenal to begin with, along with Hali and an injured Pos who didn't play very well for half the year. Shayne had to move down to DE. Hunt is good, but they didn't really have any QB competition for Morelli to get better -- everyone in the country knew Morelli was their next QB. And their receivers were always very raw. I honestly didn't understand why people thought they'd be a great team in 2006. They needed a lot of growth to happen to get there, and do it without a lot of competition from within.
On the other hand, 'sconsin scares me next year. Donovan was a stud when Stocco was hurt, and they've still got the heart of their defense and PJ. The only big loss they've got is Thomas. Their achilles heal will be their secondary, but with a new QB and WRs it'll be interesing how well we exploit that.
