How well will we fare against the Horns next season?

You make Young try to win the game with his arm. Stop the RB from gaining yards consistently and in passing situations, force Young to throw. Rush a few and spy him. Drop 8 into coverage.
Dropping 8 into coverage will not work against a running QB, that is what SCUM did to us. The reason why this will not work is that if the O-line can block the three guys rushing, then the WRs and TEs have time to run downfield, thus taking the 8 DBs with them. This opens up huge running lanes for the QB. This is exactly what happened with TS, he had all day, and eventually running lanes opened where a defender wasn't within 30 yards of the LOS.

That said it may work to rush 3, keep one very athletic, sure tackling spy on the QB (Danimal type of player, or Carpenter). Anytime you give a QB all day bad things are going to happen, you can't just sit back, you have to still attack but play contain at the same time.

One hopes that we're doing well enough at the QB spot by then that we don't have to switch. Said it before, I'll say it again, I don't care who the QB is, I just want someone to own (in all senses of the word) the job.
I agree. The job should be wrapped up, tightly wrapped up, by at least that game. HOPEFULLY (MightbeaBuck crosses himself here...) it will be wrapped up well before kickoff of the season opener.

I disagree. VY will be our biggest challenge next year because of his speed and expect him to come back throwing the ball a little more...Also, they have had recruiting class after recruiting class so don't expect them to not have outstanding replacemenets.
Recruiting classes are judged before players ever take a snap, so I don't give that much stock. The freshman FB that played yesterday is supposed to be the heir to Benson, he has some decent size but isn't as fast as Benson so I don't worry about that too much. The Texas receivers looked fairly undersized and not too big of threats yesterday, most of VY's completions were short throws that went for some good YAC, I said it once and I'll say it again, VY can't throw a decent ball, take away his legs and you win the game.
