How to evaluate a cornerback...

Could you please offer a specific example of a glaring error by Jenkins this year? For such a strong stance, there must be a handful of examples. If there's one thing Jenkins does not lack, it's fire/desire. I think he'd jump up screaming if he won the toss before a game of madden.

I'd say that the reaction to his "I think Jenkins has slipped a bit from last year" has been much stronger than Mr. I's "stance".

He offered an opinion based on observation, without saying anything very negative about Jenkins. The fact that it goes against the prevailing opinion, and that the overall defense has been so effective, generated a strong response from some.

You know what's funny? The fact that I've had this much adverse reaction- people trying to "disprove" me, in no certain terms calling me an idiot, saying I'm on drugs, etc. Over an evaluation?

Because I said something that wasn't glowing about a Buckeye, everyone wants to get their licks in. Interesting.

It goes back to the general experience of Joe Buckeye, your common tOSU fan. They don't dress their kids in navy and yellow at the same time (because those are Michigan colors! Really? Or is it just navy and yellow?) and want to discredit anyone who may not be unrealistic or who may not wear scarlet and grey every day of the year. It's tiring, really. Trying to reason myself into starting discussion with a group of people (generally, not all of course) who are so uneducated (in a football sense), slanted and biased that they can't take an objective look at a potential claim or truth. I have a friend I watch games with who will sit down and will critique the games with me while they happen on Saturday afternoons. Very knowledgable fan (not necessarily in technics), especially considering I don't even think he played high school football. However, like many of you, we'll yell at our tvs (as if they could hear us and that they cared) when a player makes a bonehead play or a poor effort. I know this type of open criticism goes on in most of your households, yet each of you cast stones from your glass huts in an effort to preserve your Buckeye "integrity" in the eyes of others on this board.

The statements above aren't necessarily directed at any one person (a few of you have actually engaged in conversation), just my reaction to the general feel of piling on. It's to be expected, though.

Josh, are you really expecting me to scour game film to find a specific example? And if I did happen to have the tapes and provided you with a time stamp series of examples, what would that do for this discussion?

I don't care that much. I gave examples of what I saw earlier in the thread. You, in particular (as well as the gentle BKB), may not be trying to pile on (considering I know both of you), but I just don't care enough, man. I was merely indirectly complimenting the rest of the secondary and wondering if anyone else thought Jenkins "fattened up" (not gained weight, please think of that in a figurative sense) as a result.

Why do I feel the need to be so fucking Buckeye P.C.?

Thank you, my plea precisely. I sincerely appreciate your objective approach.
