How Old Were You When You Moved Out?

Left for school when I was 18, went back for the summers till the end of my junior year. I had to since I lived in the dorms. Left for good at the start of my senior year when I got my own apartment.

ditto for me...although I wish I would have been living at home for at least a few years after college so I could have been putting some serious $$$ away in the bank...

Yep. Take out the alcohol, drugs, sex, car thefts... and that's exactly my life story. :)

I was 25. I graduated from OSU w/ a degree in history, and realized I needed to go to grad school. I went to grad school at Miami for 3 years and taught school for 1 one year while living at home. The rent was free, and I was able to save a lot more $$ than I would have getting some cheap apartment, w/ more student loans. If I had gotten a regular job straight out of college, I would have probably gotten an apartment, but living at home made a lot more sense. I didn't have any Kerouac driven, gotta get away from the folks, go anywhere but here type of feelings.......

moved out @ 19 for two years, moved back in for six months (between leases and jobs), and then moved out for good. im 24 now

my old room has been changed into my mom's art room, but now that my wife and i are expecting, she is already talking about turning it into a kids room again

my 27 year old brother just moved out of our house and he has been teaching for over 5 years....He just liked living at home with mom and dad....

I left the house to go to college at 18, and haven't lived with Mom & Dad since, except for a few summers during school (if that counts...)

I have a friend who lived with his parents after college until he was 33 yrs old. Granted, he was saving a lot of $$, but come on- cut the freakin' cord already!!

Same as some of you. Move out at 17 to start school at OSU. Went home for the summer after my freshman year, and that was it. I think the last straw for me was when my father came home and a few of us were shooting hoops and drinking a few beers. He called me into the house and told me I was grounded. :)
